Weekend Fun Claims Life of 25-year-old in Drowning at Sullia

Sullia: Chandrashekhar (28), son of Mahalinga Patali of Shantinagar Bettampady, met a watery grave while having gone to bathe in river Payaswini near Paichar on the outskirts on Sunday.


He had gone with friends Harish and Madhusudan to spend their time in the river. None of them knew swimming. When Chandrashekhar was dragged by river currents, others shouted for help.

Rickshaw-driver Ibrahim who got the information called for local swimming experts Abbas, Arshad, Abdulla Shantinagar and Latif Paichar.

Although they succeeded in bringing him out, it was already late to save his life.
