Alka Anto awarded Ph.D in French- A unique Achievement for a Mangalorean
Mangaluru : In a unique achievement, Alka Anto of Mangaluru has successfully completed her doctoral studies in the field of teaching French as a foreign language. She has been awarded Ph.D degree by Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai for her thesis ‘Teaching of French in Hotel Management Schools of Karnataka: Problems & Perspectives’ vide the letter from the university dated June 03, 2019.
Her research guide for the study was Dr. R. Sudha, Professor & Head, Dept. of French, School of Foreign Languages, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai.
Alka has completed her B.A in French from Loyola College, Chennai and M.A in French from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. In her career as a teacher she has served colleges in Mangaluru such as St. Aloysius College, St. Agnes College, Mahesh PU College, and Pana Pre-university College. She is currently serving at St. Agnes College and School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru.
Dr. Alka Anto is the daughter of Mr. Anto David IRS (Retd) and Dr. Leela Manjooran. She is married to Dr. Manuel S Thomas, Associate Professor, Manipal College of Dental Surgery (MCODS), Mangaluru.
