Anjana Murder Case, Accused Sandeep Taken to Crime Spot for Investigation

Mangaluru: The accused in 22-year-old Anjana murder case was taken to the crime spot in Attavar by the Pandeshwar police for investigation on June 9.

Accused Sandeep has accepted his crime and said that he was upset because Anjana refused to stay with him. Anjana and Sandeep were unofficially married in a Temple on November 1, 2018, and were meeting each other since then.

On June 7, Anjana had taken sweets and Chapatis to Sandeep’s room. When they were discussing their future, Anjana said that her parents had found a suitable match for her and that she would marry him. Sandeep got upset and slapped her. Later he strangulated her with a TV wire forcing her head between the rods of the bed.

While accepting the crime Sandeep also said that his intention was not to kill. Later Sandeep was taken to the police station for further investigation.

Anjana’s mother who was in trauma and admitted to the KMC Hospital on June 7 and was discharged on June 8. After the post-mortem Anjana’s body was handed over to the family members and the cremation was held in the evening.

Under the direction of Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil, DCP Law and Order Hanumantharaya, DCP Crime and Traffic Lakshmi Ganesh, and under the able guidance of the ACP of Central Sub- Division Sudhir Hegde the operation was carried out by the Pandeshwar Police Inspector Kumar Aradhya, PSI Rajendra and team.
