B.L.T.N ! KMC Nava Chaitanya-Bejai celebrates New Year Day 2018

Mangaluru: As they say “Better Late Than Never” (B L T N), the members of KMC Nava Chaitanya-Bejai who always celebrate New Year’s Day in time, but this year due to a few busy engagements within the members, celebrated the NY day recently in Joy and Fun at the KMC Bejai Hall- with quite a number of members in attendance, along with friends and well-wishers.

The programme began with a prayer followed by welcome address by Ms Devipradha Hegde-President of KMC Nava Chaitanya-Bejai. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the chief guest- Dr Latha V Prabhu- Prof. of Anatomy, KMC Bejai-Mangaluru, along with guests of honor-Dr Anand Venugopal-Medical superintendent-KMC Attavar, Mangaluru; Dr Anupama -Asst Professor, Dept of Physiology, KMC Bejai-Mangaluru.

Addressing the audience, chief guest Dr Latha Prabhu said, ” It’s nice to note that these seniors are trying to keep themselves active and healthy through various exercises, including yoga. Being healthy and active is the right thing to start a healthy and active New Year. By looking at all these members here, they don’t look look in their vintage nature, but look active, enthusiastic and young. We need to appreciate the efforts put in by KMC Nava Chaitanya through their yeoman service and care provided to its members, who are able to keep their life healthy through exercises and diet. Seeing all these young members in their vintage age who were active, means there is still fun in life at an older age. I am very happy to amidst these young and energetic seniors”

Dr Anand Venugopal admiring the enthusiasm and energy of the Seniors said, ” Its nice to note that even at this age our seniors citizens are contributing a lot to the community. We need to appreciate the efforts put in by KMC Nava Chaitanya-Bejai in providing a platform for these elders so that they can exercise, involve in various activities and lead a healthy lifestyle. By regular exercises and healthy diet you can lead a healthy and long life. And if any support is needed from KMC, I am ready to extend my full cooperation.”

Prizes were distributed to the winners in various competitions held earlier. Following the formal programme, the cultural entertainment kicked-off with various performances in the form of singing, dancing and skit showcased by the members of Chaitanya. The rare and energetic celebrations, cutting across all divides halted after devoutly and proudly singing the national anthem.
