“As I share my personal reasons on photography hobby, I’d like to encourage you to to become a photographer too. Then I’m sure everybody will have a great story to tell about their photography hobby. I believe we all picked up a camera at a very young age, no matter how simple or basic that camera may have been. Yes, you don’t need talent to take pictures, but unless your goal was to make photography your art medium, there’s nothing wrong with just snapping pictures with no concern on technicalities nor aesthetics. With digital photography, the immediate feedback connects us even faster. Camera phones, remote uploads, social media sharing all allows us to see the world as it happens – yes, even if there’s no skill involved! “- Neil Pinto

Mangaluru: Yes, nowadays, the message is very clear: #STAYHOME! Many countries are in Coronavirus Lockdown, including India-and for that matter, our Smart City- Mangaluru, and we must stay home, as that is the only “vaccine” we have for now. So, what to do to fight boredom at home during this quarantine? If you have time to be bored at home, then you have time to change your life! Boredom is a sign that things are comfortable and easy. It’s time to challenge yourself! See your boredom as an opportunity to realign your goals, learn something new, or change your life’s path. There are many productive and fun ideas to practice at home during COVID19 Lockdown- and if you have a Will, there is a Way!

With most of us practicing self-isolation and social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic, and many individuals urged to work from home if they can. But staying IN, can be just as fun and productive as going OUT if we try to keep boredom at bay during the COVID-19 lockdown. From learning new skills to embracing your inner DIY guru, there are many fun things you can do or create new things, to keep yourself busy during loickdown-just like this young man from Bajpe did, who unfortunately got “Home Quarantined” (just kidding?) stuck here, due to flight cancellation and lockdown, after he came down for holidays from Qatar

And during this boredom spree, with Nothing much to do, and bored at Home, He planned on doing some home videos, and here is His interesting ‘STOP MOTION’ Quarantine special video, for your viewing pleasure. Meet Neil Pinto, age 31, hailing from Bajpe, in the outskirts of Mangaluru, and currently working as Logistics Coordinator in Qatar Gas, Qatar Offshore, and at the moment spending some leisure time in the lush green surroundings of Bajpe, after being stuck here, when he had come down on holidays prior to lockdown and cancellation of flights. But Neil tried to keep himself busy, that he apart from clicking hundreds of photos, in and around the House and spending number of hours, he later decided to create a ‘STOP MOTION’ video, which is complied using Souvenirs from around the World.

“We’re locked down in Our Homes but this video will take You places with a unique perspective of the Countries! Hope you all will enjoy it” says Neil on his new creation. His favourite hobbies are Photography and Creating YouTube videos, among other fun things he does. In the past Team Mangalorean/Mangalorean.com had carried his photographs with exclusive reports ( Ref:  Mangaluru: From Green City to Concrete Jungle! My Kudla is not Eco-Friendly Anymore );  ( Ref:  What goes into the Making of a Yakshagana Event Revealed through Pics ); (Ref:  Say Cheese! I Love to Take Pics- Do You? Make Photography One of your Hobbies )

Speaking to Team Mangalorean, Neil Pinto said, “I came down to India on vacation just before the lockdown began and since then been stuck at home like the rest of us, but that didn’t stop Me from experimenting with a new kind of project. Now that we’re confined to Our Homes and have no option to travel or see places I thought to improvise, that would virtually enable viewers to travel to different Countries using only Souvenirs I collected from around the World and with a unique technique called “STOP MOTION” every frame in this video is a photo that were painstakingly put together to be composed into a video, and all this without leaving the security of home during this lockdown. I hope to create more such interesting videos in the future “.

Neil Antony Pinto is an Electrical and Electronics Engineer from NMAMIT, Nitte, and worked as an Electrical Engineer for a construction firm in Mangaluru, before moving to Qatar in 2018 for a better job there. In 2019, he married to Sharon D’souza in Mangaluru, who works for a IT firm, HCL-USA . Apart from listening to music, Numismatic and Antique collector, Neil is very much into photography. His Photography line of interest is Portrait photography. Neil believes in the Photography motto: “All That You Click Is Not Photography, But It Is What Makes You Click”.

Narrating about his photography hobby, Neil said, “To me photography is much more than just a process or art. I would say that it’s not only my hobby, but my passion. Photography holds in it so much emotion and feeling. Just the possibility of capturing a moment with just a click of a button is very thrilling. Photography presents a feeling of accomplishment, because even when a photo doesn’t turn out the way you want, you have a chance to try again until you’re happy with the result. It also provides a new way of seeing the world around you. Through the lens you can see so many more details, so much more happening, and those things in itself inspire you to take a photo. This activity really is about invention, rebirth, evolution and emotion. It’s a way to educate oneself. A way to study the way things work and the way people function”.

“Photography not only gives a feeling of contentment, but I have realized that it also can teach you a lot about the world around you and about yourself as well. Photography is my favorite hobby. The aim of indulging such an interest is sheer pleasure or relaxation. It refreshes the mind and provides a welcome change from such dull and dreary routine of daily life. I love to read articles and magazines on the subject of photography. Photography is quite expensive pastime and to be a good photographer one needs a lot of training and guidance. When my friends invite me for parties/ weddings/or any grand occasions. I am particularly interested in capturing landscapes, scenery, human life, animals etc etc, Photography has made my senses keen and my imagination sharp. I have developed a wonderful aesthetic sense. I have stored many of my photos in albums, and when I really nothing to do I just leaf through the photo albums and a whole gamut of interesting reminiscences rush through my mind” added Neil.
