A young woman from Hosanagara arrived at the Girinagar police station on Saturday evening and filed a complaint of repeated sexual assault on her by the Swamiji. She was accompanied by a few members of the Janavadi women’s organization. She has also approached the state women’s rights commission for relief.

In the complaint, she has stated that the assault has continued right from 2006 until now. She joined VIII standard in Sirsi in 2004 and lived in a hostel belonging to Hosanagara math. Since she was good in studies and sports, the Swamiji had keenly encouraged her.

But in 2006, when she had to skip classes and stay back in the hostel on account of illness, he, on the pretext of taking care of her, had taken sexual advantage of her, she has said. He convinced her that it was all the grace of Shri Rama and if she disclosed the matter to anyone, he threatened that evil would befall her household and family, she has alleged.

Informed sources said that she, like in the earlier case against the Swamiji, was a vocalist as well. The earlier complaint from the senior artiste had been filed by her daughter in the Banashankari police station. The matter is being investigated by the CID.

In response to the fresh complaint, a math spokesperson said that it was a continuation of a conspiracy against the Swamiji, who was of a clean character, in whose life it was impossible to think of such things happening.
