BJP Tagging me as anti-Hindu, Speaking about my Personal life – Prakash Rai  

Mangaluru: “When the elections are nearing the media and the citizens meet each other. Recently the BJP Mahila Morcha members were asking for votes in the name of Hindutva which is against the constitution. I do not belong to any political party. The video asking for votes in the name of Hindutva by a woman has gone viral. Since many days I am saying that politics should not be based on religion, be it Christian, Hindu or Muslim. I want to advise the men of that party, that we respect women. BJP workers and leaders are indulged in telling lies, they talk indecent and spread false rumours. If Prakash Rai questions about development or whether they kept their promises or not, they tag me as anti-Hindu. The BJP targets me and speaks about my family. I am not lying, we can live our life as we wish. I have divorced my first wife, but for my mother, she is her sister-in-law and mother of my children. I have married for the second time and have two wives. What is your problem? questioned Indian film actor, director and producer Prakash Rai in a press meet held at Hotel Srinivas here on April 28.

Addressing the mediapersons Prakash Rai said, “BJP is talking about my wives and children. One BJP MP when I had questioned him was speaking about my son’s death. If there are differences let us sit and talk but the BJP is talking about my personal life. The BJP has used my photo with my wife at the swimming pool and trolled it. Who are these people to tell me? There is a limit to everything. I have all the secrets of BJP, I will reveal everything. BJP is using a newspaper to defame Lankesh. She was a great journalist but the BJP is insulting her. I am also a human and I have certain limitations. I want to ask the BJP Mahila Morcha member, if anyone speaks wrong about your husband will you sit quietly? My mother, wife and daughters are also women. Being a party leader one should have a limit on what one speaks. If anyone speaks against me, why should I not question him? One should not cross his limits. BJP is indulged in spreading fake news, what is your ideology? BJP always indulges in negative publicity. Modi and the BJP leaders can criticize anyone, they can meet Pakistani leaders visiting their country but being a citizen if we go and meet the people of Pakistan to create awareness they throw cow dung on us.”

Prakash Raj further said, “Every 5 years citizens elect their leaders. Do we need the police force to cast our votes? They even do not allow journalists to speak. They want the journalists to ask questions only favouring them. People of Karnataka are watching. If you have differences speak about it. Don’t indulge in character assassination. Don’t talk about my wives or son’s death because it is my personal life. People of the country are fed-up and they do not trust the politicians”.

Prakash alleged that even the Prime Minister, Amit Shah or Yogi Adityanath have not called for a press meet. They give selected questions to some journalists and answer. Till date, these three leaders did not interact with the media.

When asked about the “Save Constitution” campaign Prakash said, “People are fed-up, and have lost faith in political parties. On May 12, people will vote, why is the BJP worried. Let the people decide who they want as their leaders. People are watching your activities! The BJP has no responsibilities, they say that they have a big army to post trolls. In India, all the citizens do not belong to all the parties. In 70 years the people are not happy with the JD(S), Congress or BJP. But they need someone to rule the country, and without any choice, they vote.

When asked if there will be coalition party in Karnataka, Prakash said, “People should be careful and not allow any coalition party to come to power. I don’t have any connection with BJP, Congress or JD(S). People should be careful before casting their valuable votes.”
