DAR Policeman Tests Positive for Coronavirus in Udupi, SP Office will not be Closed

Udupi: According to reliable sources, one more DAR policeman in the city has tested positive for the coronavirus on May 25.

Sources said that the DAR policeman was on duty at the reception in the district police office for some time. The police department has conducted a random check for the coronavirus at the district police office.

After three police personal were tested positive for coronavirus on May 24 , four police stations were temporarily shut down and disinfected. On May 25, the Hebri Police station was also temporarily shut down and disinfected.

According to SP Vishnuvardhan, there is some confusion on SP office being closed as one of the DAR staff is tested positive.

“I wish to clarify that the SP office will not be closed. We had sanitised the premises two days back because of the large footfall of the public for passes and other reasons. However, we will sanitise the premises once again and operate as usual. There is no reason to panic, and I repeat the SP office will not be closed”.
