Dr. TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi Moves to New Location with Better & Upgraded Infrastructure, Commences Operations from 1st June
Udupi: Dr. TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi, will commence operations from its new, upgraded facility at NH 66, Near Swagatha Gopura, Kadekar from June 1, 2026. The hospital will also allow public visits from May 22 to 24, between 10 am and 4 pm.
Established in 1984, the hospital is relocating to a spacious and modern campus after over four decades of dedicated service to the people of Udupi and surrounding regions. Spread across 1.4 acres, the new facility has been designed with advanced infrastructure, modern medical technology, and patient-friendly amenities to strengthen healthcare services in the region.
The 152-bed hospital has departments of General Medicine, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics , Ear Nose and Throat, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Gastro Surgery, General Surgery, Anaesthesia, Dermatology, Occupational Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Dentistry, Physiotherapy, Speech and Hearing. Specialist consultations will also be available in Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology, Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Neurosurgery, Urology Infectious Diseases, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Respiratory Medicine and other super-specialties.
Major highlights of the new hospital include a 24×7 Emergency & Trauma Care Centre, four modular operation theatres with advanced laparoscopic systems, expanded 25-bed ICU facilities, advanced dialysis support, CT scan, Ultrasound, X-Ray, laboratory and pharmacy services, dedicated health check facilities, day care services, and ample parking space.
Dr. Shashikiran Umakanth , Medical Superintendent said that, the launch of the new hospital marks a significant milestone in the institution’s journey of healthcare delivery. He stated that although the hospital has moved to a new location, its commitment towards the health and well-being of the Udupi community remains unchanged. He highlighted that the new facility has been specially designed with a strong focus on emergency and critical care services, particularly to ensure rapid response during emergencies along National Highway 66. He further added that equal importance has been given to patient comfort, safety, accessibility, and creating a patient-friendly healing environment for patients and their families. He said the hospital aims to provide comprehensive, accessible, ethical, and quality healthcare services through advanced infrastructure, modern operation theatres, cutting-edge diagnostic facilities, and highly skilled clinicians.
Dr. Rajaram Pai Deputy Medical Superintendent said that, the hospital’s primary objective is to provide high-quality healthcare services that are accessible and affordable to the community. He noted that while the new facility offers modern technology, upgraded infrastructure, and enhanced patient amenities, the hospital remains committed to maintaining reasonable and transparent treatment costs. He emphasized that the institution will continue to focus on ethical medical practices, transparency in healthcare delivery, and value-based patient care for society.
Mr. Deepak Prabhu, Administrative Head & Group Manager, Dr. TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi said that the new hospital has been carefully designed with emphasis on patient safety, quality care, comfort, accessibility to doctors, and efficient management systems. He stated that special attention has been given to critical care services, operation theatres, patient waiting areas, parking facilities, and preventive healthcare services. He also added that all departments have been planned not only to provide modern healthcare facilities but also to accommodate future expansion and growing healthcare needs of the region.
Under the theme “Healing Hearts, Open Doors,” the public and corporate representatives are invited to visit the hospital, explore key departments, and interact with hospital representatives before the official commencement of services.
