Driver of KSRTC City Bus Drives Bus on Footpath and Damages it Partially

Driver of KSRTC City Bus bearing Reg No KA 42 F 2012 Drives Bus on the newly constructed Footpath near Nanthur Junction and Damages it Partially

Mangaluru : This morning while Yours Truly was heading towards Nanthur, noticed something strange happening- a driver of KSRTC City Bus bearing licence plate No KA 42 F 2012, on the route from State Bank to Moodushedde, made a U-turn and stated moving the bus over the footpath, and slowly moved back the bus on to main road, and headed towards Kadri-Mallikatte. Due to this a portion of the newly constructed footpath was damaged.

Team Mangalorean who quickly took some photos, stopped the bus driver and asked him the reason for driving the bus onto to the footpath- and in reply, he said that there was some gear malfunction issue when the bus started climbing the Kadri-Nanthur stretch of the road, and therefore he had to turn back and head to the depot. Whether it’s true or false only the driver knows!

But the question now is-why the driver had to climb the bus onto to the footpath, which resulted in damages to the new footpath. MCC and the police department should contact the higher authorities at the KSRTC Mangaluru division, and get back the compensation for the damage done to the footpath. After all it is the tax payers money, and citizens have right to question in this regard. Hope the concerned authorities will do the needful.
