Former Minister Pramod Madhwaraj Resigns JD(S)

Udupi: Pramod Madhwaraj, former minister and JDS candidate of Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency, has officially tendered his resignation to the membership of JD(S) Party on Tuesday, September 3.

He had written to HD Kumaraswamy, the President of the JDS party, and said, “I am interested to contest from the Congress party for the lok sabha elections in Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha Constituency. I had discussed the matter with the Congress party leaders. Later the Congress Party made an alliance with JD(S) to contest the Lok Sabha elections. With the Congress and JD(S) alliance the Udupi – Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha seat was given to the JD(S) and I contested as the coalition candidate. While contesting as the coalition candidate, the JD(S) party had given me the B Form in which it was mentioned that I was the member of JD(S). During the elections leaders from both the parties had supported me.

Presently there is no Congress and JD(S) coalition government in the state, so I am tendering my resignation to JD(S), he said.
