G Shanker Family Trust Donates Rs 25 Lakhs to Families of Pulwama Martyrs

Udupi: G Shanker Family Trust Ambalapadi, Udupi donated Rs 25 lakhs to the families of 40 CRPF troopers who died in the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district, on February 18.

The G Shanker Family Trust Ambalapadi president Nadoja Dr G Shanker handed over a cheque of Rs 25 lakhs to the Army relief fund through the District administration. On behalf of the district administration, Additional DC Vidya Kumari received the Cheque.

Prior to the programme all the dignitaries paid floral tributes to the brave hearts of the Indian Army who were killed in the fidayeen attack at Pulwama.

Speaking on the occasion Dr G Shanker condemned the cowardly attack on the paramilitary CRPF personnel at Pulwama. It was a cowardly act to attack unarmed soldiers. The government should take action to stop such barbaric acts in future. It is our duty to instill confidence in the families of the deceased. On behalf of our trust we are donating Rs 25 lakhs to the Soldiers relief fund through the district administration. The district administration should take initiative to handover the funds to the family members of the deceased.

A Prayer service was conducted for the martyred soldiers followed by a one-minute silence and lighting of the candles as a sign of respect.

Around one thousand plus students, soldiers who had come to their native on vacation, the Mogaveera Yuva Sangatane leaders and the public participated in the programme.
