KCWA Holds Annual Meeting

Kuwait: Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) held its General Body Meeting on Friday, 22nd February at the Harmony Hall, Salmiya. The meeting commenced at 6:30 pm with the opening prayer lead by Albert Praveen Menezes. KCWA President Hilary Stevan Rego heartily welcomed the gathering and expressed his gratitude to all the members for their support, love and encouragement.

Various Reports were presented and appreciated by all. Rajesh Aranha presented Minutes of the previous GBM followed by Harry Fernandes with activity report. Finance, Membership and educational fund reports were presented by Anil D’Mello, Sunitha D’Silva and Alwyn Noronha respectively. KCWA website and Facebook updates were presented by Allan D’Souza. Sports activity updates were presented by Hywel Pinto and cultural updates by Orson D’Souza. A lucky draw was held for the members present at the venue. Nishel Lewis emerged as the lucky winner. KCWA Spiritual director, Fr. Noel D’Almeida, lauded the works and achievements of KCWA.

KCWA Managing Committee Elections for the term 2019-2021 are due in the month of March. Vijay D’Souza, Anil Menezes and Orson D’Souza were chosen as the members of Election Commission. President Hilary Stevan Rego briefed the gathering about the election procedures and requested talented members to join the Managing Committee and to take KCWA to greater heights. The elections for various posts in Managing Committee shall be held on 22nd March at 6:30 pm in Harmony Hall, Salmiya.

Jinella Rodrigues delivered the vote of thanks followed by the closing prayer. Vice President Deepak Andrade was the moderator. Alwyn Noronha captured the event through his skills in photography. Allan D’Souza facilitated the power point presentation. Dinner was served by Royal Star Restaurant Salmiya. Around 100 members and their families were present.

KCWA Managing committee would like to express their sincere gratitude to members for attending the GBM in large numbers and for their valuable suggestions and also thank the management of the Harmony Hall for providing the auditorium.
