Mangaluru: High Jumper Sahana Kumari to Lead Karnataka Team in 19th Federation Cup

Mangaluru: The Karnataka Athletic Association website www.kaa.org.in was relaunched at the Mangala Stadium here on April 29. CMD Karnataka Bank Jayaram Bhat handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to Minister Abhaychandra Jain, Syndicate Bank also handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to the minister towards the 19th Federation Cup.

Briefing the mediapersons, G Parameshwar said that so far 876 entries have been received from 30 states, out of which 156 are individual entries. Most of the athletes have reached Mangaluru and they have been accommodated in various places. Menu cards for food have also been prepared so that the athletes as well as the delegates chose their own menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

“In the website, “www.kaa.org.in” we will update the names of the athletes, their state and the event they wil be participating. Results will also be published online in the evening. We will also publish the winners names, the national record and the winning record. Day-to-day information related to the event will be published online.”

G Parameshwar also announced that the Olympian High jumper Sahana Kumari will lead the Karnataka team.

Minister Abhaychandra Jain, MLA J R Lobo, DC A B Ibrahim, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Manjunath Bhandary, CMD Karnataka Bank Jayaram Bhat and others were also present.
