Sharing her thoughts with Team Mangalorean over the phone, Adhvithi revealed her story. When asked how she got the offer to act in TV serial ‘Eradu Kanasu”, she replied, “When the offer for this daily soap (Eradu Kanasu) came along, I was a bit hesitant initially, but my role clinched the deal for me. I wasn’t actually ready for TV. I was focusing more on films. But when Mohena Singh, the director of this soap approached me on social media, and also later, Pradeep Belawadi-the producer spoke to me, about the role that I would be playing, I readily agreed to accept the offer. I realised that acting is what I like, and if I act in a serial or in a movie, it’s all the same. Also, I thought that this serial would open more doors for me”.

Explaining her role in the soap, she said, ” I play a doctor’s role, as Dr Sahana. The series is about two sisters, whose father is an autorickshaw driver, who ensures that his daughters are well educated. The story is about the two girls fulfilling their father’s dream, the hurdles they face along the way and how they handle them. It is a story of women empowerment and that is what attracted me to it. It’s been over 10 days now since the serial has been aired, my tryst with TV is already yielding positive results. People have started sending me wishes through social media and have approached me about their fondness for the serial. People like the concept and the story. My acting has also been appreciated so that I am called by my character’s name”.

So you think that TV serial has given you more exposure than movies, Team Mangalorean asked, to which she replied, ” Yes, for sure. The Serial has been aired for the last two weeks, and already viewers are recognising me. With movies, the response from the audience is not that quick. Not everyone goes to movie theatres to watch movies, but a lot of people watch TV.”. When asked if she would prefer acting in movies over TV, she said, “I have experience working in the film industry, and now I have stepped into TV world. I would love to act both in movies, as well as TV serials because acting is my passion- and I don’t mind accepting both offers when they come to me- I don’t find any difference because I love acting”.

When asked about her future projects, Adhvithi Shetty said, “As of now I haven’t signed up for any new projects, either in movies or TV serials. I can’t work in another serial along with Eradu Kanasu-I am happy with the space I am in right now. In the meantime, my movie ‘Girgitle’ will be released soon- and when I get more offers for movies I will choose the best and do my best”.
