Mangaluru: To mark the victory of Ashith Pereira who was re-elected as the President of National Students Union of India (NSUI) DK unit, a bike rally was held from St Aloysius College, Lighthouse Hill Road, here on March 7.
The NSUI elections were held in D K district congress office under the supervision of NSUI election commission on February 24. Ashith G Pereira, from SDM LAW College was elected as the president of the District NSUI.
The new office bearers of the District NSUI are, President Ashith G Pereira, Vice-Presidents Ashfaq Ibrahim, Manmohana Jois, Shiny and Anvita Pereira. General Secretaries Pritvi Salian, Irshad N G,Rizwan and Deeksha. Secretaries Akarsh Bangera, Oswin D’Souza, Savaad Gunadka and Rashmi.
Addressing the mediapersons, Ashith Periera said that the state level NSUI election was held on February 24 and Manjunath Gowda was elected as the state president. Students from various colleges had come to the District Congress office to cast their valuable votes. He further said that NSUI will address the problems facing by the students. In the past the NSUI had condemned the moral policing and other issues causing problems for the students. We will not tolerate if any student faces problems in the future too. We are always with the students and will do everything in our capacity to solve problems faced by the students.
The rally started from Light house hill road passing through Jyothi- Bunts Hostel-PVS and culminated at Lalbagh.
