Mangaluru: A youth was stabbed by a group at Balmatta here, on January 30.
The injured has been identified as Muzamil (22), a civil engineer by profession and son of Abubaker, a resident of Yedur Padav, Moodshedde.
According to the police, at around 9:00 am when Muzamil was on his way in a bus to work at Hoige Bazar, his former classmates pulled him out of the bus at Balmatta near Juice Junction and stabbed him. There was a misunderstanding between them. And since they were friends, they used to fight for silly reasons. On January 30, Muzamil’s friends also travelled with him in the same bus from Moodshedde. When the bus reached near the Balmatta, his friends pulled him out of the bus, assaulted him and stabbed him in the stomach.
Muzamil was rushed to the Highland hospital. Later at 12 p.m, the police were informed. The Kadri police visited the hospital for investigation.
Later in the evening, five persons were taken into custody for investigation.
