Marks cards of 63 government employees found to be fake
Bengaluru: The marks cards furnished by as many as 63 government employees at the time of securing job, are found to be fake. The department of Industrial Training and Employment, which detected this fraud, has registered criminal cases against all the such employees.
The said employees had created fake marks cards in the name of various Industrial Training Centers in the state and furnished the same document to the recruiting authority.
Siddapura police, who are investigating the case, said that the Joint Director of Industrial Training and Employment department, B L Chandrashekhar, had lodged a complaint in this regard and notices were yet to be issued to suspects for inquiry.
The police said that such cases were being detected over the course of many years and they suspect a huge racket behind it.
Chandrashekhar said that the government had constituted a department-level committee for scrutiny of the marks cards of the government employees. “This committee detected the fraud and submitted a report on the basis of which a complaint has been lodged.”
The examination section functions under the Industrial Training and Employment department. The recruitment authorities had written to the department to examine genuiness of the marks cards submitted by the candidates who joined government service by completing ITI courses. A special order was passed for this purpose, Chandrashekhar said.
The police said that they suspect the involvement of some officials of the department also in the fake marks card racket. The police further added it had come to light that on enquiry these candidates had not even attended the institutes the names of which were mentioned in the marks cards they had produced.
Some of these candidates are working with energy supply companies (escoms), industrial training centers, water board and other agencies and their personal details are being collected, the police added.
