No FIR was registered in Suspicious Death of Shiroor Swamiji – Advocate Ravikiran Murdeshwar

Udupi: After taking many twists and turns in the suspicious death of Sri Laxmivara Theertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math, once again in a new development the Advocate of Shiroor Swamiji Ravikiran Murdershwar said that, no FIR was registered in the Swamiji’s death.

He was speaking after participating in the Shiroor Swamiji’s well-wishers meeting held in Udupi on August 11. Advocate Ravikiran said, “The Swamiji’s brother Lathavya Acharya had filed only a complaint of UDR (Unnatural death report) in the Hiriyadka Police Station. It was Just only a case of Unnatural death and no FIR was registered in any police stations.”

Advocate Ravikiran further said, “The Medical Superintendent of Kasturba Hospital Manipal had revealed before the media that the Swamiji was admitted to the hospital and that he was found to be critically ill with breathlessness, severe hypertension and massive gastrointestinal bleeding. The hospital press release had also raised suspicion of poisoning. There was suspicion of poisoning and toxicological samples were sent. Police received the post-mortem report of the Shiroor Swamiji Laxmivara Theertha on Monday, July 30. However, the report did not mention the exact cause of death. In the report, doctors who conducted the examination have said that they would give a conclusive cause of death only after matching the present report with that of the Forensic Science Laboratory report, Mangaluru.”

Ravikiran also said, “Everyone has various doubts about the Swamiji’s sudden death. If the Swamiji’s Multiple organs had failed, he would not have died immediately, there may be some suspicious issues with his death. The Police department is investigating the case but without filing an FIR the police cannot arrest anyone related to the case. Until an FIR is filed, how can justice be done in the Swamiji’s death case?” he questioned.

“The time has already crossed, but we have faith in our judiciary. If anyone is ready to file the FIR individually, I will assist them doing it,” he said.
