Police Seize 16 Kg Silver Worth Rs 8 Lakh, One Arrested
Bengaluru: In a swift operation the Bengaluru Town Police, North Division and Sriramapura police seized 16 kg of Silver worth Rs 8 lakh and arrested a man from the Armugam Silver Works Factory.
The arrested has been identified as Bapu alias Puput Chalekar (26) from Bagalkot presently residing at Malleshwaram, Bengaluru.
According to the police on October 28, the Sriramapura police received a complaint about the theft of silver from Armugam Silver Works Factory. Bapu who was working as a metal melter in the Armugam Silver Works Factory used to steal 200 grams of Silver per kilogram while melting it.
Based on the complaint by the owner of the factory, the police took Bapu into custody. During interrogation, Bapu accepted his crime. 16 kg of Silver was recovered from Bapu’s possession.
Under the direction of DCP North division Bengaluru Shashikumar IPS and the guidance of ACP of Malleshwaram Sub Division Dhananjay, the operation was carried out by the police inspector of Sriramapura Sunil Naik, Probationary PSI Girish Nayak, ASI Baburao, ASI Venkatappa and staff Nataraj, Srinivas Murthy, Mohan Kumar Naik, Thimmesh and Hanumesh Naik.
