Rai Family from Puttur on France Tour Reported Safe
Puttur: Enterpreneur Karunakar Rai and family from here were among a group of 20 who were on a tour of France when the city of Nice was hit by a terrorist attack on the night of July 14.
As a matter of coincidence, the group happened to be in Nice on that very day. Hence people back home were stressed and anxious over their safety. Karunakar, his wife Krishnaveni and daughter Ashika are among them.
Rai’s son Ashwin has conveyed for the information of all friends, well-wishers and acquaintances that the group had been in Nice to watch a local festival. Fortunately enough, they were at dinner within the premises of a restaurant, which kept them safe.
The news was soon confirmed by Karunakar himself by calling his son. The group is on a 12-day package tour the UAE and Europe, having flown from Mumbai on July 4.
