RLP to field candidates in local polls in Rajasthan

Jaipur:  Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP), a BJP alliance in the centre and the state, have decided to contest the municipal polls for six Nagar Nigams of three districts independently.

Addressing a press conference, RLP MP from Nagaur Hanuman Beniwal said, “We have decided to contest elections individually looking at the sentiments of our youths who are eager to contest the polls.”

Those working to strengthen the party shall be given tickets and RLP will contest elections with its full strength and vigour, Beniwal added.

He announced MLA Narayan Beniwal as in-charge for Jaipur, MLA Pukhraj Garg as in-charge of Jodhpur and MLA Indira Devi Bavri as Kota in-charge.

The polls will be held in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota on October 29 and November 1.

Beniwal, since the last few days, has been expressing his displeasure over the three farm Bills passed in the Parliament recently and has termed them anti-farmers.

He also said that he shall meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will request for the amendment in the Bills.

Beniwal also expressed his displeasure when he was declared COVID-19 in New Delhi before the start of the Lok Sabha session and thereafter, was allowed in the Parliament when his successive five reports tested negative.

Meanwhile, BJP chief Satish Poonia told IANS that RLP never expressed the idea of fielding its stand alone contestants in the local polls. “Will talk to him to understand the equation,” he added.
