Sawyer Fredericks wins eighth season of ‘The Voice’

Los Angeles, May 20 (IANS) Sawyer Fredericks from singer Pharrell William’s team has won the eighth season of popular talent competition “The Voice”.

The 16-year-old youngster was announced the winner on Tuesday night. He is from Fultonville and has dominated iTunes charts with his performances throughout the season, read a statement.

Fredericks was in the final four along with Team Blake Shelton’s Meghan Linsey, Team Adam Levine’s Joshua Davis and Koryn Hawthorne — also from Team Pharrell.

Fredericks had been the favourite from the audition rounds as he managed to win hearts with his steady incredible performances. One of his best performances was of “Imagine” by John Lennon.

“The Voice” finale featured performances from top stars in music industry including Maroon 5, Kelly Clarkson, Meghan Trainor, Luke Bryan, John Fogerty, and Sheryl Crow.

The finale will be aired in India on AXN on Sunday.
