Section 144 CrPC Imposed in Ullal

Mangaluru: Police commissioner Chandra Sekhar has invoked Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) in Ullal area following a clash between two groups on April 26 from 6:00 pm for 7 days.

The orders issued by the Police commissioner mentioned that the section will be invoked from 6:00 PM on April 26 for 7 days. During the section More than five persons cannot gather at one place and no person shall be allowed to move with weapons in Ullal area.

Bursting crackers, pelting stones or carrying similar things will be banned. Shouting provocative slogans, displaying pictures of person or effigies of dead person is also banned.

After an attack on three youth in Ullal, the Police commissioner invoked section 144 to bring the situation under control and prevent any untoward incidents occurring in the area.

The police also held a route march in the Ullal area.
