Section 144 imposed in DK to Control Spread of COVID-19 from March 22 – 31

Mangaluru: As positive cases of Coronavirus have been found in the state and one case in DK, Deputy Commissioner Sindhu Roopesh imposed section 144 in the district to control the spread of the virus from March 22 to March 31.

Section 144 has been imposed from 22 March 9:00 pm to 31 March midnight in Dakshina Kannada district.

The coronavirus has been spreading very fast throughout the world and many have lost their lives. The WHO has announced COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic.

In India, the death toll is rising day-by-day and the state and Central governments have taken all the necessary measures to control the spread of the virus. The government has also lockdown 9 districts as an emergency measure to control the spread of the virus.

“Since there are chances of the number of cases increasing in Dakshina Kannada as people from neighbouring states come here. As a precautionary measure, borders have been closed and section 144 has been imposed in the district”, said DC Sindhu Roopesh.
