Shortage of ambulance: deceased Police Trainee’s Body Transported by KSRP Vehicle!

Udupi: The family members of the deceased police have transported his body in a police bus due to the shortage of ambulances in the City on Saturday, June 17.

Mahantha Basappa (37) resident of Bagalkote was suffering from Kidney disease. He was a KSRP trainee undergoing training at the Koppal Police training school. He was admitted to Manipal Hospital in serious condition and expired late night on Friday.

Due to the shortage of the ambulances, the body was shifted to the Mortuary. On Saturday morning had to run from pillar to post to get an ambulance. When they could not find anyone to take the body to Bagalkote. The distressed family members appealed to the police department after which the body was transported to Bagalkote by KSRP bus from Mangaluru.

According to police sources due to the shortage of Ambulances, the family members requested the police department for a vehicle to transport the body. On Humanitarian grounds, the police department provided the police vehicle to transport the body.
