Siddaramaiah Tends Resignation as CLP leader

Bengaluru: After the results of the bypolls in Karnataka were out, CLP leader and former CM Siddaramaiah tendered his resignation to his post on December 9.

In his letter to the President of AICC, Sonia Gandhi Siddaramaiah has stated, “I am grateful to you for the confidence reposed in me and entrusting the responsibility of leadership of Congress Legislative Party in Karnataka. I Express my sincere regret for not being able to give satisfactory results in the recently concluded bypolls held to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly despite my sincere efforts.”

Siddaramaiah also stated, “I deem it necessary to stop down as leader of CLP by taking moral responsibility. I solemnly pledge my loyalty to your esteemed leadership and to the Congress Party at all times”.
