Srikar Prabhu Acting in Favour of Lobo – Nagaraj Shetty
Mangaluru: “On May 15, BJP will come to power in Karnataka and Yeddyurappa will be the chief minister. As soon as the BJP Government led by CM Yeddyurappa comes to power within 30 days the Light House hill road will be renamed as Mulki Sunder Ram Shetty road. Earlier when the resolution was passed by the Mangalore city corporation, the state government had ordered to implement it and I had specially congratulated Lobo for that. But today Srikar Prabhu has given a statement indicating that he favours J R Lobo in this issue”, said the former minister and BJP leader Nagaraj Shetty in a press meet held at the BJP Mangaluru South Election Office here on May 4.
Addressing the mediapersons Nagaraj Shetty said, “During the Congress administration in MCC the order was passed by the State government to rename the Lighthouse Hill Road to Mulki Sundar Ram Shetty road but the MLA and MLC brought a stay at the last moment. Srikar Prabhu who was earlier in the BJP is now contesting as an independent candidate and supporting Lobo in the road renaming issue. It is my duty to clarify the BJP’s stand in the Light House hill road issue.”
Nagaraj Shetty further said, “The stay order by the government for renaming the Light House hill road as Mulki Sundar Ram Shetty Road has hurt the people. We have clarified our stand. I too had studied in St Aloysius College, my father had also studied there and I have special respect towards St Aloysius college which has its own identity. There is no need to name the road after St Aloysius college and play caste politics.”
Nagaraj Shetty also said, “When Yeddyurappa was the CM, Rs 40 crores was sanctioned to construct the new Thumbay dam and solve the drinking water problem for 20 years. But the cost went up to Rs 75 crore for which we need an explanation. Under the ADB project, we spent Rs 307 crore for drinking water supply and drainage. Lobo says that there is 24X7 water supply but from the past 2 years there is no proper water supply to my house and I am forced to bring water by tankers.”

Half of the sanctioned money must have gone into … pocket; then split amongst …ji and himself. That is the explanation. N Shetty should first find out if the sanctioned money was ever released to the project?
