Udupi BJP Youth Wing Demands Action Against SDPI Leader for Alleged Inflammatory Statements
Udupi: Gautham Agrahara, President of the Udupi Rural Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha, has formally requested the Udupi District Police Department to initiate a suo motu case against Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) State Secretary Riyaz Kadambu. The demand stems from allegations that Kadambu made inflammatory communal statements regarding the recent discovery of a cattle head in Kunjalu.
Agrahara asserts that Kadambu has leveled unfounded accusations against the Hindu Sangh Parivar, the BJP, and Udupi Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Yashpal Suvarna, implicating them in the aforementioned Kunjalu incident. He contends that these statements are not only baseless but also deliberately intended to incite communal discord and disrupt the prevailing peace and harmony within the Udupi district.
In a formal statement released to the press, Agrahara emphasized the sensitivity surrounding the discovery of the sacred cow’s head, describing it as an “extremely emotional incident” that has already caused significant distress among the local populace. He argued that Kadambu’s pronouncements exacerbate the situation by making provocative allegations that wound the sentiments of the community.
Agrahara drew a parallel to the recent suo moto case filed by the police department against Hindu leader Sharan Pumpwell, suggesting that the same legal standard should be applied to Kadambu’s case. He insisted that parity demands the immediate registration of a case against the SDPI leader, followed by stringent legal action to deter such behavior in the future.
Furthermore, Agrahara issued a clear ultimatum to the Udupi District Police Department. He stated that if the police fail to register a case against Riyaz Kadambu promptly, the Udupi Rural BJP will be compelled to launch a public protest to advocate for their demand. This statement underscores the seriousness with which the BJP Yuva Morcha views the matter and their determination to ensure that appropriate action is taken against those perceived to be inciting communal tensions.
