Udupi Journalists’ and Medical Association Signboard Unveiled

Udupi: A significant milestone was achieved with the unveiling of a signboard at Brahmagiri Nayarkere, sponsored by Udupi Panchami Trust and Gandhi Hospital under the aegis of the Udupi District Working Journalists’ Association. The ceremony took place on Thursday, May 14.

M. Harischandra, Administrative Director of Udupi Gandhi Hospital, unveiled the plaque and emphasized the importance of journalists prioritizing their health. He also highlighted the need for providing training to journalists on first aid. The hospital has pledged to support these efforts.

During the ceremony, Gandhi Hospital donated Rs. 55,555 to the Udupi district administration, which was handed over by Udupi District Information Officer Manjunath. The donation is intended for the Indian Army.

The event was attended by notable guests, including Dr. Vyasaraaja Tantri, Medical Director of Gandhi Hospital; Dr. Suresh Shenoy, President of Udupi Coastal IMA; Rajesh Shetty Alevoor, President of Udupi District Working Journalists’ Association; and Dr. Vasudeva Upadhya, Udupi Taluk Health Officer.

The signboard provides directions to key locations, including the main office of the Udupi District Working Journalists’ Association, Udupi Patrika Bhavan (Press Club), IMA Bhavan, and the Udupi Taluk Health Officers’ office.

Journalist Janardhana Kodavoor proposed the vote of thanks and anchored the program, while Nazir Polya, General Secretary of the Udupi District Working Journalists’ Association, offered the welcome address.
