M’luru CGST, Customs, DGGI, DRI, SEZ donate Grocery Kits to Migrants & Needy

 Mangaluru: Officers of Mangaluru CGST, Customs, DGGI, DRI, Audit, SEZ and Retired Officers of CBIC took up the task of helping the needy and poor in and around Mangaluru by pooling in the voluntary contributions made and being made in their individual capacity. As part of the social responsibility and COVID-19 relief activities, the team Mangaluru has undertaken dry ration distribution drive to poor people and PPE kit donations to hospitals till date.

On 25 April, a team of officers from Central GST & Customs reached Jokotte near the Thokur Railway station in Baikampady and distributed Dry Ration Kits sufficient for around 15 days. The Food kits containing 5 kg/10 kg rice bags, Daal, Onions, Potatoes, Cooking Oil, Sugar, Tamarind, 2 cotton face masks and a Soap were rationed to 175 migrant labourers living in camps. A list of all families living in camps have been prepared, and the bags were handed over to the representative of a family unit by maintaining social distance.

The officers have also underlined the importance of wearing the face mask outdoors and explained to the people how to use the reusable cotton mask.
