Nandan Mallya Re-Elected as Dakshina Kannada District BJP Yuva Morcha President
Mangaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has formally announced the re-election of Nandan Mallya as the President of the Dakshina Kannada District Yuva Morcha. The decision, sanctioned under the auspices of State BJP President Shri B.Y. Vijayendra and the district wing led by Shri Satish Kumpala, confirms Mallya’s continuation in the leadership role for a successive three-year term.
Mallya’s re-appointment is largely predicated on his demonstrable leadership and active engagement within the district over the preceding years. He has been a prominent figure in numerous significant agitations, spearheading demonstrations and black-flag protests against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah during the latter’s visits to the coastal region. These protests served as a platform to voice opposition against the state government’s policies, with specific emphasis on the MUDA scam.
Notably, in August 2024, Mallya orchestrated a district-wide “Rasta Roko,” a road blockade, aimed at compelling the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against Congress Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) Ivan D’Souza. The demand stemmed from D’Souza’s controversial remarks against the Governor, which were characterized as “Bangladesh-style.”
Furthermore, Mallya led a “Gherao” and subsequent protests at the Barke Police Station. These actions were motivated by allegations of police bias, claiming a disproportionate focus on BJP workers while neglecting to register cases against Congress leaders.
The newly constituted team, designed to augment the party’s grassroots connectivity, comprises active workers drawn from diverse regions across the district. The appointed members are as follows:

District Vice-Presidents: Avinash Suvarna, Ashrith Nonda, Nishan Poojary, Varun Raj Ambat, Pramod Didupe, Ritesh Shetty Permude
District Secretaries: Shri Krishna M.R., Suresh Kotian, Naveen Raj Mulki, Shiva Kiran Bhat, Praveen Kondana, Prakash Garodi
District Treasurer: Nitin Aras
District General Secretaries Shri Premananda Shetty and Shri Yatish Arwar graced the appointment ceremony. Party leadership articulated their expectation that the newly formed team’s capacity to mobilize the youth demographic will be instrumental as the party gears up for forthcoming political challenges at both the local and state levels.
