Satyajit Innocent, Case filed Against him should be Withdrawn – HJV

Mangaluru: “If the case filed against HJV leader Satyajit Suratkal under section 307 will not be withdrawn we will hold a massive protest. On July 8, Satyajit Suratkal was leading the procession and during the pelting of stones, Satyajith was not present. But an attempt to murder case has been registered against him”, said the president of HJV Kishore Kumar in a press meet held at Hotel Woodlands here on July 10.

Addressing the mediapersons Kishore Kumar said, “The accused in Sharath murder case have not yet been arrested. PFI and SDPI are directly responsible for the communal violence in the district. The police are not taking any action against those who create communal violence. The Congress government is interfering in the police department and not allowing the police to arrest the Muslim communal forces. The In-charge of Karnataka affairs K C Venugopal is trying to make Karnataka like the Kerala State. In Kerala, Hindus have been discriminated and RSS workers have been targeted. The police department and district administration have totally failed to arrest the accused in the RSS workers murder cases.”

Speaking to the mediapersons, Satyajit’s wife Savitha Suratkal said, “On July 9 at around 11:30 pm police were wandering around our house. I did not bother much since our house is at the dead end and many people get confused. On July 10 at around 2:00 am, the police were knocking the doors and windows of our house. But I did not open the door as I was alone with my two children and a relative with her 18-month-old baby. At around 2:45 am, when the police knocked at my bedroom window. I asked them who were they and what did they want. They said that a case has been registered against my husband in the Bantwal Town Police Station and they had come for him. They then asked me to open the door and come out of the house. But I told them that I will not come out from the house as my husband is not at home. They were adamant on entering the house. Later when I opened the door I did not see a single woman police during the search. 50 police had entered my house. I co-operated with them because I know my husband is innocent.”

Savitha further said, “My husband helps everyone and on July 8 he was leading the procession. But he is not involved in any stone pelting. The accused in Sharath murder case have not been arrested so far but the police have filed a case against my husband”.

HJV leaders Radhakrishna Adyantaya, Amith and Subhash Padil were also present.
