Sexual assault on Hostel Girl, Welfare Officer of DBCGH Arrested
Mangaluru: The Welfare officer of the district backward classes girls hostel was arrested on charges of alleged sexual abuse of a minor girl at the Hostel office, here on March 31.
According to the police, the welfare officer of the district backward classes girls hostel, giving the reason of “Checking the hostel”, he was purposely visiting the hostel. Whenever he visited the hostel he used to call a minor girl to the hostel office. When other hostilities got suspicious and enquired with the girl, she revealed that he was sexually abusing her.
Immediately the students informed the women police. The women police took the welfare officer into custody, the girl was taken for a medical test which proved that the girl was sexually abused.
The welfare officer was arrested under the POCSO act and produced before the court which has remanded him to judicial custody.
