Webinar on Revised Accreditation Framework for Autonomous Colleges

 Mangaluru: NAAC accreditation for colleges is an integral part of the functioning of higher education institutions in India to know its strengths, opportunities, and weaknesses through an informed review process. As a preparation for its Fourth cycle of NAAC Accreditation, St Aloysius College (Autonomous) Mangaluru, in association with National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), had organized a webinar on Revised Accreditation Framework for Autonomous Colleges on Monday, 7 September, 2020 at 2.00 PM. Dr Ganesh Ananth Hegde, Advisor, NAAC, Bengaluru was the resource person for the Webinar.

Principal of College Rev Dr Praveen Martis SJ initiated the webinar with his initial remarks, Dr Ganesh Hegde started the session with the mission statements and core values of NAAC envisages. He provided the instructions to the institutions for submission of documents to the Institutional Information for Quality Assurance Cell. He explained in details about the seven criteria and the key indicators of NAAC Accreditation. He also said that statistical analysis of each criterion in 500 words should be presented to the NAAC committee during the Peer Team visit to the College. He stressed on the importance of Student satisfaction Survey for the NAAC Grading. He concluded his session with the explanation of Data Validation and Verification process. Around 200 participants from the different Autonomous Colleges of Mangalore city and from the colleges affiliated to St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru under PARAMARSH Scheme of UGC participated in the webinar.

Dr Divya Shetty, Assistant Professor, Department of PG studies and Research in Chemistry invoked god’s blessings through a Melodious Prayer Song. Dr Loveena Lobo, Director of PG Block introduced the Resource person to the participants. Manual D’ Souza, Assistant Professor, Department of English Proposed the vote of thanks. Manoj Fernandes, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration compered the program. Naveen P Mascarenhas, Coordinator of IQAC of the college moderated the session. Dr Richard Gonsalves, Director LCRI block and Dr Adarsha Gowda took the overall in charge of the Programme.
