Website Impact! Quick Action by MCC in Clearing the Debris Blocking the Lane

Mangaluru: Talk about the power of media, especially Electronic media where we highlight the civic issues and within few hours or few days the concerned authorities who can’t bear the criticism about heir negligence, quickly get into action and rectify the civic issues. In the past Mangalorean.com has highlighted various civic issues through our website, and there has been a tremendous effect with most of the problems being fixed in no time, from rectifying dilapidated roads, open drainage, non-friendly footpaths, dog menace etc etc.

Here is yet another story of website publicity which has brought positive results, and this time action was taken within an hour after we had highlighted the civic issue in our website- and this is the FIRST time that we saw the results/action from MCC Officials in rectifying the problem. No doubt, that the media plays a key role in shaping the growth of the City. Mangalorean.com had published a report ” No(n)-Sense Work by MCC Laborers in Cleaning Clogged Drainage Puts Residents in Hardship” , and the link was forwarded to the concerned authorities and also posted on social media, and in response the concerned officials of MCC took quick action in solving the problem.

Speaking to Team Mangalorean Deepak D’Souza, a resident on Chinmaya Lane, near Bharath Beedi Works PVt Ltd, Kadri said, “This is unbelievable, to note that MCC took action in no time after the issue was highlighted in Mangalorean.com. MCC had sent their laborers and a mini pick-up truck, and they cleared the debris within 15-20 minutes, thus making a clean way for four-wheeler vehicles to pass by in the lane without facing any inconveniences. Our sincere thanks to Team Mangalorean/Mangalorean.com and also MCC officials for solving this issue”.

Team Mangalorean appreciates the quick response by MCC. Not just from our side, we feel, that even non-profit organizations and citizens, in alliance with Government should really come up to make things possible and intend to work for the welfare of society. At least now a common man can get some hope that their grievances are being heard and taken care by the MCC, once it is highlighted on our website. Thanks to MCC for taking up this job quickly although factually speaking they should also attend to all other civic issues without delay- Thanks.
