Udupi: Forest Officials Rescue Leopard from Well in Kuthyaru

Udupi:  The Forest Department personnel rescued a leopard, which had accidentally fallen into a well at Karmara Jeddu near Kuthyaru here on Wednesday January 13.

The leopard had fallen into the well belonging to Girija Moolya a resident of Karmara Jeddu near Kuthyaru. Family members  spotted the leopard in the morning and quickly alerted the Forest officials. As the news spread, locals rushed to the spot in large numbers to have a glimpse of the rare visitor.

The Forest officials conducted a swift operation by lowering a cage with chicken in it. When the leopard entered the cage to grab the chicken, the cage door was closed by the officials. Later the cage was pulled out of the well along with the leopard. The leopard was then released into the Kudremukh National Park.
