Great reporting. This event gives me hopes. For all its flaws and limitations, this event shows that our society is moving forward in right direction. This is the proof that people can follow their dreams and make a positive change. Special congratulations to Surfing Swamiji and all other volunteers/surfers who made this happen. Note: Indians have a bad habit of worshiping Bollywood, cricket, politicians and ignore the real achievers. Both Suniel Shetty and Jonty Rhodes appear to be genuinely nice guys. However, please don’t turn this into another bollywood-cricket circus. Once again, congratulations to all those who made it happen.

If it was BJP rule with culprits belonging to majority community, we would have seen very different coverage by media!! It was interesting to read a part of the article which appeared on 10 Jun 2010 and appreciate the courage of people of Mangalore who withstood a tragedy of a mass scale & remember all the people who were part of the rescue effort “Does it take a tragedy to unite a town? It appeared so, in the aftermath of the Air India Express plane crash that took the lives of 158 people on May 22—when an army of locals trooped in to clear the debris and pull out the bodies at Bajpe; when benevolent taxi-drivers readily ferried people from one mortuary to another; when relatives drew courage from total strangers to pull aside the shroud on their dead; when they broke down on the shoulders of volunteers, not knowing how to begin identifying the charred bodies. Even when relatives from two different communities lay claim to a single body, Mangalore seemed to be putting behind its recent history of communal frenzy. The October 2006 riots, the September 2008 church attacks, the January 2009 pub attack and many other incidents in between and after seemed a distant memory.”

Ohhh…even Doctors came to the road to protest, its shame on dignified city like Mangalore. Because of few culprits, it is not good to take a march on road by closing the medical services to common people. Anyhow, Police case already been registered, it’s up to the police department to take action to prevent such untoward incidents in future. Doctors should be spared to protest such a way by disturbing the traffic and normal human life. Doctors just concentrate on how to save lives of human by being generous not stingy. We know it is a respectable profession, with hard work and commitment only a person can become doctor, that does not mean that they have to throw away the ethnics to make money. We are not generalizing but due to some mean doctors, whole fraternity is blamed. We condemn the attack on Doctors.

It’s truly great in having introduced KSRTC local buses that are new, comfortable, and less crowded, when compared to other local private buses, that are poorly maintained, drivers and conductors have no ethics at all, and most of all they stop the bus anywhere, load the bus to any amount of people, and driver the bus recklessly, as there is no law and order for them. Why don’t KSRTC build covered bus stops at 500m distances so that ladies, children and older people can sit and await a KSRTC bus that has intervals on some routes as long as 45 min. Also, at the KSRTC Udupi Bus Stand, benches with shade must be provided for travellers awaiting a bus, and the entire bus stand must be fenced to keep those labour class drunkards and the liquor vending bar behind. The area in the vicinity of the City bus stand must be cleared of all those illegal shops/stalls, and those labourers who crowd this area. All of it must be banned and a law strictly implemented.

Mr Alfie,I told you before and I am tellingYou again that getting done anything through MCC or Panchayath is like Dog chasing the tail to catch it. Look at the water tankers filling the water near Kadri Kambla. Follow those tankers to find out where they unload that Water. Then take a sample of that water in a very clean Sterilized bottle. Take it to a Lab where they do Water Testing. Then only you will along with Public come to know what it contains. Also try to find the Bacteria Count such as E-Coli in water,because very close to these wells flows a large Drain(Near Kambla Apartment Buildings) which contains Human waste from Kaibattal – Kadri Temple area. Recently I took Mr Madhu Manohar to show drain water over flowing on the road where little Children walk in it. Contact the owner of Shivabaugh Restaurant to find out the Truth. This water enters the drain that flows near Kambla. Also test for Dioxin content in this Water, as Car Wash Waste Water flows into the Creek close to these wells. This chemical causes Cancer. I have told Health Dept. and Mr M. Shetty has seen it almost everyday. So We have Phalguni In Mangaloe City. Mr Jagadeesha is not serious about problems. On His way to His house in Balmatta,I have installed “NO PARK” board for His benefits,so that no vehicles will block the road. But everyday 3 to 4 vehicle park there and He do not even take action on these vehicles. So Amen to ?

Jackfruits and Mangoes have a great deal to contribute in the Agricultural and Horticultural segment of our life. Each soil has a different product to offer, and even the shapes, colors and tastes of a fruit differ. Strange as it may sound, but that’s how God has gifted us different climates, different soils and different means of producing our agricultural resources for the common good of mankind. Recently, during our visit to India, we visited various “Santhes” and we were amazed to witness so many wide varieties of agricultural products that were displayed in a wide area of rural farmland. So many fruits and vegetables were displayed in a four-acre land under various tents, and it was amazing to witness the volume of farm products that were carted to the “Santhe” for the benefit of the neighboring community. This is the way to help our “Panchayat” and this is the way to encourage our farmers to produce more and produce better at reasonable prices. This is the beauty of a community that a rural village is proud to display, and this is where we as citizens have a duty to help and patronize.

This is really sad. Shows how slavery is still being practiced in some of these medieval societies. It’s even more shocking that we can’t rescue these young guys even after the report is in public domain! Remember – (s pandita) from Udupi thinks that this arabian society is very superior and wants the same thing in India as well!! This story reminds me of a very famous Malayalam book – ‘Aaadu Jeevitham’ (A goat’s life). It is based on the real-life story of a Malayalee who got trapped in similar situation for a few years before risking it all and escaping from the goat farm. Who knows? There could be thousands and thousands of such guys still suffering in the hands of tribal employers.

The problems with Indians is that most of them are incapable of thinking and do not possess fertile imagination. That is why netas, godmen, swamis, maulvis and others take them for a ride with the gift-of-their-gab or showmanship, viz. Lalit Modi, Vijay Mal-leykey-gaya, Zakir Naik etc. When things get heated up, these scurry to England, which has gained a reputation for being a haven for undesirables. Again, they get carried away by Bollywood stars (none of whom have won any international awards) or cricketers, who are practitioners of a sport that is actively and extensively played by just eight countries. We have to respect any hardworking person, be it labourer, welder, electrician, mason, engineer, scientist, civil servant (which is called the dignity of labour). Their contributions are no more or less than a Hollywood star or cricketer. In fact, these people are the unsung heroes. These days, I feel sick to see an “old fart”, a film actor of yester-years, shamelessly advertising products and services on the electronic (and probably also in the print media). Why cannot those advertising products give opportunities to many young or fresh faces and pay a fraction of what is being paid to this “old fart”? The more the people get opportunities to model products, the better it is. Keep an annual ceiling on advertisements to any given person, so that he does not end up being a mercenary. In India, Sachin Tendulkar is treated as Almighty and for what? There are scores of batsmen in the history of this game with much healthy batting averages which are above 53 and ends up with 99.94. Immediately after Sachin Tendulkar retired, Jacques Kallis (an all-rounder) and Kumar Sangakkar (a wicket-keeper) retired with batting averages of 55 and 57 or 58. So, is Sachin Tendular superior to these two who were not in the team as specialist batsmen, but one who could bat a bit. Many legends got phenomenal averages batting under adverse conditions: bad and unpredictable pitches, facing barrage of bouncers and beamers without body protection, they played not for money but for the prestige of playing for their country, travelled by trains and ships (later air), had to depend on some other jobs for a living, as not much money could be earned by playing cricket, there were no sponsorship, endorsements and free gifts.

Lady of Lourdes and Lady of Fatima have taken good care of our town of Mangalore that has turned into a small and vibrant City where Education is thriving and the society as a whole is moving in the right direction. Our faith in Lady of Lourdes as well as Lady of Fatima have rendered a special thought in the minds of so many non-Christians to realize the depth of our faith and devotion towards our dear Mother. Our thanks to the Mangalore Diocese as well as the Jesuits who have given us a strong belief in our faith and our dedication to life. Why boast of being largest exporter of Shrimps to Europe and USA when one cannot see or easily afford buying shrimps in India. India should stop exporting fish and other food produce, so that all Indians can easily afford good and nutritious food. The government is only interested in export and foreign exchange earnings whereas the people have no fish or food one can easily afford. Indian origin food is sold cheaper in foreign countries than in India – tea being one big example. India should focus on exporting engineering goods and electronics – where export is sadly very poor as compared to China, Korea, Bangladesh.

I have also caught a Cobra inside Lobo Prabhu Court Building and another at Ligoury School, Neermarga. Every one do not have talent nor the courage to do this. I have done this since 12 years old Boy. Most of it done near Kadri Kambla. They are also God’s Creations. Should not harm them.

Mr Alfie, have you heard a saying “Pouring Water on the Rock, where nothing grows”. Message to Mayor: Dear Mayor, I told your Electrical Dept. that Electrical Lighting Control Boxes are Covered with PG Hostel Advertisement Stickers and other stickers. Is it not the Law that these boxes should have a sign on the front cover “DANGER” exposed for safety of public. Everywhere Public can see these PG Rental stickers are pasted on Panel Covers. These stickers have Contact Number written on it. So, please instruct your Electrical Engineer, Mr Kamath to take strict action on these violators by contacting numbers immediately. I met one of the Engineer in Person (In Electric Dept.Office) and I told Him about this problem and also gave Him the location near KSRTC and Maithri Hotel. 2months passed and still no action taken. Also the Panel is without the Cover. A small Child can reach and try to remove the Fuse. Smart City has Smart acting Children. But not so Smart Acting Employees.

It is indeed sad to hear the news of her illness through her brother Manohar, who is my classmate, but I must admire the courage this girl demonstrated and the support rendered to her by her loving daughter Jadyn and her ever smiling husband Joseph. Surprised to see lack of planning on the part of tour operators. They seem to be as lousy as the ones at these tourist places!! When you are taking several dozen foreign tourists around the city, I would expect a some homework in advance to ensure that there are clean toilets and other facilities available at the location? Oh well.. Coming to the main topic – The entire India smells and feels like one big open toilet. Sorry for being harsh here. One of the biggest slum is literally next to Mumbai international airport. Our mangalore is not too far behind. The hampanakatta and townhall areas are some of the filthiest areas I can think of. A beautifull gate for kadri park, a musical fountain, then a rope way bridge which had started and died till sultan battery and finally a planetarium in pilicula.!! All this necessary but toilets first. its a shame when we have tourists from abroa and they are made to see shitty toilets.

Thank you, Mr. Alfie D’Souza, for your frank and candid remarks on the importance of providing clean toilets, wash rooms, restaurants and tourist spots for visiting foreign tourists, specially from the visiting Cruise ships. This is also a great reflection on the Port of Mangalore, where we are told that we have four berths available for cruise ships alone. Cruise ships visiting any port has a great advantage for not only the local port but also the local tourist attractions including shopping and restaurants. Unless and until we have clean roads, clean transport facilities, clean restaurants and also clean tourist sports, the Cruise owners themselves will discourage visiting any port so that the passengers do not carry any kind of virus or disease with them due to lack of proper sanitation facilities. Tourism is a “package” where the Tourism Department is closely knitted with the local authorities so that more and more tourists visit Mangalore and avail of all the touristic facilities that are available for them. Cleanliness is “Godliness” to all the foreign tourists visiting Mangalore and India. Foreigners are very sensitive to unclean water, unclean food, and even unclean toilet facilities. Foreigners are very allergic to even bad odors, and even to any flies or mosquitos. Please, please therefore listen carefully and give the best priority towards cleanliness in everything that you contemplate not only for the benefit and safety of the tourists, but ourselves who live in Mangalore. Let some of the Tourist authorities visit some of the foreign countries and see to themselves some of the most hygienic precautions they take in order to maintain good health and good environment. By alloting 2 extra seats you are in no way helping senior citizens, but if you see that the steps are lower and the conductors are more courteous then yes you will bring a smile on the senior citizens.

Kudos to Mangalorean.com & Mr Alfie D’souza for highlighting this issue. I have raised this issue many times. What happens at the Junction railway station is nothing but organized loot. I have experienced similar things at Central station too at odd hours from 11 pm & 5 am, etc. The auto drivers just gherao you menacingly. I was once charged Rs. 150 from Central railway station to Falnir Avery Junction. The problem with Junction railway station is that it is in no man’s land and hence ideal for fleecing passengers. After several bad experiences, I always ensure that I am picked by a relative or friend from this dreaded railway station. Hope the City Administration and Police take some steps to resolve this issue.

Hi David, If you look at our detailed email sent to the Mumbai Municipal Commissioner which has been reproduced by Mangalorean.com which gives one the background of the issue..The Asst . Municipal Commissioner is misleading the facts of the case. First of all, there is a Supreme Court judgement on removing illegal religious structures which are on public land or encroached. This Cross is on private land with a history of 122 years existence. The BMC gives a blind eye to illegal structures and encroachments and does not provide efficient services to the citizens like garbage clearance , water supply etc. It is unfortunate that it had all the resources to target an Innocent Cross.

This has been on my mind for a long long time now. The Auto drivers attitude at Mlore (Not all) is next to the rowdyism. Am a Mangalorean and would not speak Tutu, that does not make me less mangalorean. They demand excess and is un-justifiable. I travel regularly from Bangalore to Mangalore and am faced with this problem. In a month i travel thrice and having to pay a min of 200 to 300 Rs for 5 kms is insane. The OLA cab is not allowed to come near the station causing trouble to the taxi driver as the autowalla feels he is loosing his income. If they charge fairly am sure lot of people would love to use their services. I just wish this rowdy attitude is changed and the authorities come up with a solution. Visit the cities junction station and you will see how they gang up. Whats happening to our people. Where is humanity and society. Why are we looting eachother.

It is so pleasing and satisfying to note from a long distance that we have active volunteers scattered all over the place in and around Mangalore that help to keep the place clean and neat, and also helps maintain order and discipline wherever and howsoever possible. Having said all that, it is also obvious that some of the major decisions should come from the Commanding authorities who guide the destiny of our exemplary city. Make no mistake, that each and every good deed along with the bad deed is being closely witnessed by our City Fathers and City Mothers, and our beloved Mayor is also included in the scenario. In a country of democracy, each every move takes time and patience. Implementation of any rule needs cautious approach so that we keep everyone satisfied in order to enjoy the desired order and discipline. Let the slow process bring the desired result sooner or later. Volunteerism is an act that should always stand behind the leadership. That volunteerism will keep the leadership strong and vibrant. Volunteerism has a dual face of patience and perseverance, and time alone will bring the desired progress in a City that has earned so good a name. Dear Mr. Drona, Nice to hear from you and your communication has been at length and has given me snippets of information about various personalities. Many, many thanks. Any information on Mr. Alfred J. Rebello, who used to come with arguments that were preposterous, out-of-this-world and amateurship? I used to enjoy Arnab Goswami’s programmes at 09.00 and 10.00 p.m., because he would lampoon panelists regardless of their position and stature. Another knowledgeable person is Mr. Maroof Raza, the Defence Analyst and ex-Major in the Army. It appears that Mr. Goswami speaks to students of journalism annually at a famous institution and I watched that and one earlier programme. I learnt that he desperately wanted to interview and grill Mr. Arvind Kejriwal and Times Now’s Management refused and he was not allowed to enter his office for two days. He resigned and I heard him saying that he would start his own television channel called “Patriot Television”, but I have yet to come across it. He was the most highly paid anchor in the country. Mr. Anand Narasimhan, Mr. Rahul Sreekumar, Ms. Tanvi Shukla and Ms. Naveeka Kumar are good. Another anchor that I admire is Mr. Rahul Kunwar, who grilled that Pakistan run-of-the-mill strategist and tactician, Gen. Pervez Musharraf, who was appointed the Army Chief by Mr. Nawab Sharif (in spite of poor military record) and rest, as you know, is history. Ms. Barkha Dutt is not in NDTV anymore and they used to say that she had pro-Congress leanings and made irresponsible comments during the Kargil War, which Gen. Musharraf keeps on parroting. All Pakistani Generals, Defence Analysts, etc. have proved with facts that Kargil crisis was hatched by this general, along with three other generals and everyone else were kept in the dark, i.e. Service Chiefs, Corps Command (please note that Pakistan does not have Army Commands that are found in countries having large Armies and territories). Mr. Kannaiya Kumar, that fellow from Begusari, Bihar, was interviewed by Ms. Barkha Dutt and she gave him a clean chit. I have written at length and have to stop here. What are your comments about the mess the Gandhi family have fallen into? Robert Vadra, whose family used to sell imitation jewellery, thanks to be patronage he received used to behave like Lord Falkland. People did not vote for B.J.P., because they were in love with them, but simply because they were totally fed up with Congress and U.P.A. misrule. There were plenty of scams: A. Raja, Suresh Kalmadi, etc., Pakistani troops beheading Indian soldiers and Dr. Singh sending choicest mangoes and sweets to his counterpart. Has Singh the charisma to attract even a hobo or fakir. I used to think that whatever his failings, he is a honest man. However,the Italian Court judgement says that he even received bakseesh. What explanations you have to offer about this, my friend? Though, I am not well-versed with the Karnataka politics, I know that Yeddyurappa has a very bad image. In 2007, he had been to Bahrain with a retinue and one guy in his entourage, whose name I cannot recollect looked like a Charlie Chaplain. Oh, his birdie was also there and from the print media, I saw her pictures laughing and grinning like a Cheshire cat. I did not go to see him, but there were quite a lot of Mangaloreans and other pseudo-social workers (who always fight for honours and awards), present to felicitate him. I consider most Indian politicians to be totally corrupt and rotten and when the elections come, the choice for the voters is limited to selecting one from those who are lesser evils. A time has come when parties give tickets to candidates, the same needs to be approved by the masses. It is high time that people power comes to the fore. With people power, a lot can be achieved and even mountains moved and politicians made to work for people and interact with people.

Today, I happened to follow on the Youtube the ten most corrupt politicians in India and the names make an interesting read and four or five of them are from Congress, including the fellow who used to blink like an owl and chirp like a sparrow. The other fellow is considered as Sardar of Corruption, though presently not in the Congress, and just yesterday, the Indian Express was interviewing him and he was telling Shekhar Gupta about the pluses and minuses of both Narendra Modi. When I saw this interview I had a mighty laugh, because it was like a gentleman asking a criminal what does he think of Mr. A, Mr. B and so on. A seasoned journalist like Shekhar Gupta knows the integrity of this man and how corrupt he is. So, why waste time in interviewing him.

First of all I have requested your office some time back and I have requested Local Corporator Sabitha Misquith, previous 2 Police Commissioners office, ACP.DCP and Inspectors regarding Garage near Sandesha,(near Nanthoor Circle). How many close calls are coming at that spot with container trucks changing lane. Speeding highway vehicles are suddenly changing lanes when they reach the spot when they see parked vehicle halfway into the lane. Second one is KPT Circle near Kadri Police Station where Ganesh Vehicles are parked while washing-repairing these Buses on side of Highway lane, How about buses being washed on Balmatta-Kankanady near Petrol Bunk and Post Office. How many Senior Citizens got washed along with Buses. I am feeling insulted when I see Doctors and Highly Educated Wealthy People parking their SUV and High-end cars under the ” NO PARK” Board which were installed by Me at my cost. For example:I have installed 3 boards between City Hospital and Tejaswini Hospital at the request of Traffic Police. The public can have a look every day about how many Vehicles are parked under and around them. MCC Authorities should be punished for giving NOC to these Hospitals without Parking for Clients. Why Mr.Lobo is not questioning MCC Corporators of the Ward. Note: DCP Mr. Patil, Please Instruct the Traffic Police to take severe action on Water Tankers which overfill the Tanks and Spill water on Pedestrian and Bikers. My car was hit by a Biker who tried to avoid the spilling water.

Congestion and commotion caused by the ever-increasing traffic is a chronic problem in every city and in every country. Particularly in the developing world, while the population is growing faster than the developed world, the narrow roads look narrower than before and regardless how many police men and women are kept controlling the traffic on the roads, the situation will remain uncontrollable. Some of the immediate ways to control the traffic is the following:- a) At least, once or twice a week when the road traffic is more, try and convert the dual traffic in the major city area make the dual roads into a “one way” traffic. By so doing, let the outgoing traffic find their way to move outward without getting into the city. b) Wherever possible, specially at Hampankatte area, try and create a bride overhead so that the pedestrians, specially the young crowd can use the overhead bride for walking across without disturbing the road traffic. For older people climbing the overhead bridge may not be possible, and for them give a “Senior Citizen” status to walk on the ground level for crossing. c) Creating parking area in the outskirts of the City so that people visiting the city for parking do not have to come to the inner city with their vehicles but park in the parking lot for a payment on hourly basis. d) If possible and if feasible, avoid any parking of vehicles alongside the road. Utilize that space for additional traffic to go thru. There should be no parking alongside the road anywhere in and around Hampankatte. The market road should be strictly for pedestrians walking and no traffic whatsoever including for the rickshaws. e) Violation of any traffic should be punishable by issuing traffic tickets with stringent penalty. The police force should be empowered to maintain absolute discipline. f) This is the time to plan a “mono rail” system in Mangalore with Light Rail Transit facility. Earlier we plan would be to our advantage. g) If ever possible, please shift the existing fish market, vegetable market as well as meat market away from the existing City location to an outskirt area. These 3 markets cause lot of inconvenience for traffic movement. Times are tough and the decisions are delicate, but this is the time to plan, and plan with a serious determination in the interest of the people and the City in the short run and also long run.

Job-seekers who filled the form did not do it because they were fond of India, but they knew they would get good government jobs, bungalows, retinue of servants, memberships to clubs and plethora of other privileges. Frankly speaking, Great Britain emasculated India and made it poor. Before British came and ruled India, she had a healthy economy and artisans were producing and exporting lots of things. Sir Winston Churchill is undoubtedly a great war-time leader, who did a lot for Great Britain. However, he was a rascist.

We have lived one solid year in England, and we know truly well how patriotic it is to be a patriotic Indian in a country that considered India as a largest British Colony of the world that was liberated seventy years ago, and a country that has remained very closely and satisfactorily knitted with England. It all starts from the Municipalities of small towns and villages, and then it moves on major metropolitan cities where the consumption is more and obviously waste is also abundant. Our daily thought and prayer from a distance is always for daily good health added with daily peace and harmony. Being married to a best friend is certainly a “best gift” to be bestowed upon the happy couple. Nevertheless, in proposed marriages that even take place these days, you cannot make best a friend because you only meet your “best friend” on the day of your marriage where the first glimpse upon each other takes place. In the olden days (just 54 years ago) proposed marriages enabled the bride and the bridegroom to hardly meet with each other until the wedding took place. The prospective bridegroom could not even hold a prospective bride’s hand. There was no way even to go for a movie together, nor there was any opportunity to take the future bride for a coffee in a public or private Restaurant. Myself and my pretty bride were communicating with each other thru continuous letters for six years. Strange as it might sound, we were able to kiss each other only on the Wedding night. Even during the Wedding reception in the City of Mumbai the Master of Ceremonies could not think of any romantic moment to be displayed even after cutting the wedding cake. However, those were still the best days to remember and rejoice. Those were the sweet days to be proud of and remain grateful to God for all the blessings bestowed year after year for solid fifty four years. The happy days of friendship thru simple ways preached and practiced for 54 years and now bearing better fruit than ever before. “Al Hamdulillah”, we say in Arabic, and let the happy days prevail today, tomorrow and always.

Kindly permit me to express my views on Forgiveness of sins in the Old Testament and Redemption in the New Testament Some Christians have raised the issue of relevance of animal sacrifice in the present times and why we do not practice it anymore. To explain this we need to understand. A) Difference in forgiveness of sins in the Old Testament and New Testament. B) The meaning of the word “paradise” needs to be understood in context of what Jesus said in Luke 23:43. Following are my views on, a) In the Old Testament times though there was forgiveness of sins, THOSE WHO DIED IN GRACE DID NOT GO TO HEAVEN. They were placed in a place called paradise. The reason being the dominion of Satan could be broken by the blood of the Lamb that was to be shed on the cross. Only Blood of Lamb has redemptive value. It is worthwhile to know that sins were cast on a goat (not on Lamb) and sent into the desert as a food for desert demon (Lev 16:22) and not to Satan. b) We know that Jesus told the repentant thief “TODAY you will be in paradise with me (Luke 23:43). But we also know that Jesus rose from the dead on the third day. It quite clear from this paradise in not in heaven, rather a place all the people who were worthy to enter heaven were placed in. This is so for God himself had willed that Jesus should be the first one to rise from the dead and He should be first in all things.(col 1:18-19) .Again in this context we must understand why Jesus said in Jn 6:46“ Nobody has seen the Father except the one who came from him” .Further it must be realised that Lord was the God to whom the animal sacrifices were offered. c) Meaning of redemption Satan is the ruler of the earth. Even though Jesus has defeated Satan by his death and resurrection on the cross he has been given some time( Rev20:3). Redemption means ransoming. Ransom was paid by way of the blood Jesus shed on the cross for the forgiveness of sins (Mat 26:28). Therefore the ransom(exit pass ) can be claimed only through forgiveness of sins by Jesus. In this lies the very message of salvation.(Luke 24:47) It is quite clear from the above animal sacrifices cannot atone for our sins anymore but only repentance and forgiveness in the name of Jesus can save us. Only the blood of Christ has redemptive value. Why must we forgive? God is almighty as such there cannot be more than one God. Religion is all about understanding God and there are irreconcilable differences in understanding God between religions. Nevertheless we all are children of the same God. Christian understanding is that we all must come to the knowledge of God’s love through Christ. (1 Timothy 2:1-5 Jn 3:16). When we get angry with somebody we either begin to hate that person or become fearful of him. Both these situations are bad and cause problems. But when we pray to Jesus to bless our enemy and give him good things in life he will set us free from hatred and fear and protect us. He will take upon Himself the problem. We must not forget that vengeance belongs to the Lord. (Romans 12:19 Deut 32:35). Jesus will give our enemy many opportunities to change him. This is why we very often think that wicked people get away with their sins. If he persists with his wickedness the Lord will take away all the graces from him (Psalm 51:11) and his heart will be hardened (Exodus 9:12) and our enemy will set himself on the path of self destruction like Pharaoh. Furthermore it is also important that we pray to our Guardian angel for protection. John Crasta

Seller provide dustbin where he sell’s.. its not responsibility of seller… People who eat they should take responsibility towards city.. as far as I have seen they have kept dustbin. Then that is the case PAN stall people take tour of city everyday. where people spit all over city.

Seeing this report I too feel guilty because me and my kids are the patrons of Natural Ice Cream twice or three times a week – and sorry to tell you that we too have done the same thing throwing empty ice cream cups on the street. We accept our fault- now onwards we will see that we throw the empty cups once we reach home- and I hope other customers do the same. It would be nice if Natural Ice Cream places a few garbage bins like Dsouza has mentioned. Great article to bring awareness.

Most of the tanker trucks come from Tamilnadu. With the speed they enter City limit is life threatening for slow drivers of smaller vehicles. Look at their speed near Kaikamba Flyover Bridge when they come from Maroli towards Bikarnakatta. I have stopped two of them at Nanthoor Junction through Kadri Traffic Police. Only way to stop this menace is through Public Action with help from Kadri Traffic Police who are very strict.

I feel vindicated after seeing these reports. For very long, I have been pointing out unpleasant, dangerous growth of criminal elements on this forum. I repeatedly warned about the danger and called out deafening silence by media and political leadership in addressing the root cause. Some religious bigots attacked me as RSS-supporter even though I reject all religions. Hopefully, this unfortunate, brutal assault on an innocent police officer acts as an eye-opening lesson to all those individuals who refused to see the reality. I wish Police office Aithappa a quick and full recovery. Yes – our police dept is not perfect. But, we need them to keep us safe and maintain order. There is absolutely no justification for attacking police. You can’t engage in stone pelting and expect no action from Police. They are simply doing their duty. I remember a similar incident during BJP rule and police had to do lathi charge to disperse crowds engaged in stone pelting. Unfortunately, the entire incident was projected as an ‘attack on minorities’ by usual suspects. However, the same groups are not accusing the state govt now because congress is in power!! I’m highlighting this example to expose the double standards of certain groups who will see life only through the prism of religion and political party. Police dept is very important for a healthy, orderly society all over the world. I can’t imagine living in a society without a good police force. When they deal with troublemakers, we should support them. Hope this is a good lesson to those who are too afraid to see the reality or speak out. Truth always prevails.
