I believe Mangesh Bhende should ask the people who were saved, sheltered, fed, treated, and rehabilitated what Mother Theresa meant for them, and why the Hindu people did not do so. There is nothing to project India in bad light – every Indian knows what India is and so do nationals of donor countries. India is still a poor country by any standard, and will become even poorer the way the nation is governed and taxed. Check out the news articles everyday in every media, and one finds nothing but the BJP and Congress bad mouthing and muck slinging at each other instead of being one and united as Indians, and Indians from all walks of life complaining of shortages and inflation from prices of eggs and vegetables to communication.

Obviously, these Carriers are working for some Don from Kerala based in Dubai, and Mangalore Airport is the base for Kasargod smugglers. Despite repeated detection and catches, Gold is still being smuggled! Moreover, Kerala Gold shops too are opening up in Udupi and Mangalore. Therefore, it should not take a genius to figure out that this game is run by an intelligent well-connected syndicate. All that gold seized should be well utilized to develop Mangalore and Udupi Districts. Hope this is the case or one can wonder where does all that Gold go finally!

The machine does not give a toss whether they hide it in their soles or inside their rectum. Because of these ****ers we have to go through stringent pat downs every time and they harass us even for normal coins.

You are not the body, you are not the mind. But they both belong to you. Make this distinction clear. Don’t take life too seriously. It’s supposed to be fun. Don’t worry about death either, it’s just a cosmic joke. Don’t bank on morality because it comes from the society’s garbage bin. Your personality is fake – it comes from your surroundings. Only your individuality is genuine. Don’t be identified with the mind. When an act arises out of a desire it creates bondage. Desire is the root cause of all misery in this world. When it’s fulfilled it creates greed and when unfulfilled, creates anger, neither of which is good for you. Lower your expectation and drop you ego, you will be the happiest man on the planet. At the moment your mind is ruling you. Reverse this role. Mind as a servant is an excellent weapon and as a master, an obnoxious tyrant. Don’t give too much attention to the mind, focus on your heart instead. Needless to say one cannot exist without mind, but don’t be used by it. Thoughts, which originate from your mind, are external to you. Only your feelings are genuine because they come from your heart. Mind is always of the past or about the future. The mind has no experience but only has memory. The heart knows nothing of the past, nothing of the future; it knows only of the present. The heart has no time concept. When you perfect the art of mastering the mind (it’s an extremely difficult task), you develop certain intuitive abilities with which just through the exercise of your will power you can materialise things. It can be used to do positives things and they will result in blessings. It can also be used for bad things. And that’s how curses work. There is no God who sits in the clouds. You cannot find him/her in the temples or churches or indoctrination centres. In that sense Nietzsche was right. That god never existed. Nobody can turn water into wine. Real miracles are invisible to the ordinary mind. The real miracles remain unrecorded in history because only the person who goes through the process of the miracle knows it, and even he cannot prove it, he cannot give any evidence for it. Never fight with lust, greed, ego, anger, jealousy, hatred – You cannot kill them, you cannot crush them, you cannot fight with them because mind operates on the principle of reverse-effect; all that you can do is just be aware of them. And the moment you are aware, they are gone. In the light, the darkness simply disappears. Anger, lust, jealousy etc. arise first in your deepest core, wordless, undefined. Then it comes to be a thought. Then it enters in your body; adrenaline and other poisons are released in the bloodstream, so you act. As regards God, there are 3 things in existence – known, unknown and ‘unknowable’. The first 2 are the domain of the objective world which the science continues to conquer. The 3rd one is subjective which only the individuals can know. There is no proof or lack of it. It’s your experience (not experiment) which make you realise this. First of all accept that you don’t know. Don’t believe. Seek instead. Belief imposes barrier between you and the process of knowing. You will eventually find that God is the innermost reality of existence. Focus on godliness not god. There is no fundamental difference between atheists and theists. Both believe in something. Theists believe that God exists and atheists believe that God does not exist. They both are on the same boat. Belief fulfils your psychological need. You want to believe because without belief you feel empty, just a driftwood going nowhere. On that note, I don’t understand why Richard Dawkins or Sam Harris bang their head against the wall slagging off mainstream religions. It’s a pointless pursuit. All Abrahamic religions are wrong, just like Dwaita philosophy under Hinduism. Only Adwaita (non-dualistic) philosophy honestly makes an attempt to explain what life is. There is no difference between the individual and God. Aham Brahmasmi. But realising this truth can take 5 years, 50 years, a whole lifetime or perhaps 1000 lifetimes. Until you realise it you will repeat the same mistakes over and over again. Your current body may disappear but you don’t truly go until you settle your bill or get your due. Don’t fall for materialism. Be mindful of it at least. You are likely to be born again, perhaps on the other side of the railway tracks because existence does the balancing act. So you can’t escape from your actions. Causes have effects and actions have consequences. That’s karma for you. Finally, use philosophy only as a starting point. At some point you should drop that too. Because philosophy is nothing but intellectual gymnastics, which fails to look at the whole elephant, instead selectively looks at one limb/organ at a time to say it can explain the whole thing. That’s why every philosophical thought gets debunked by another over time. Intellect is borrowed from others. Focus on Intelligence instead, which is something you are born with. Mind is the subtle part of body and body is gross part of the mind. There is no duality between the two. The ‘mind’ part manifests first, the ‘body’ next. Descartes was wrong; hence the modern western philosophy is wrong. Time comes first, space comes next. I have utmost respect for the western science because of the wonders it has created in this modern world but I feel it has got hold of the wrong end of the stick on this one. Matter is nothing but energy in compressed form. Einstein proved it. Now what existed before the big bang can be answered by theoretical physicists by proving whether energy can exist outside of time and space. Time appears to be linear to the human mind. But it’s circular in reality. There is no past, no future; there is only the present moment. The present moment is not a part of time; the present is eternity Enough rant for today.

Check out the number of Bollywood filmstars and sports personalities gaining from the government in being inducted as a member, that one can certainly never understand. What is the problem in questioning the constitution? It’s not god’s revelation like some other “scriptures”. It’s written by mere mortals. Let there be common sense. I am with Pejavar on this one. The thing is we have shot ourselves in the foot by keeping everything related to the nation off-limits/sacred, be it constitution, national anthem, judiciary etc. So now the chickens are coming home to roost. Since women are given extra importance in the constitution there are so many pro-woman centric laws which are abused by women today, be it dowry law, domestic violence law, outraging modesty, unnatural sex etc. May be 70 years ago women were socially weaker, but not any more. The system should be fluid and dynamic to reflect the current situation. Reservation should be based on economic background, not on social classification. It may have been OK during independence but not anymore.

It is indeed nice to see old students of St Aloysius High School 1975 batch with mostly greyed hair looking happy and enjoying the reunion. although only a couple of them were familiar faces then. Well said by Alfie D’souza that “what we are now is only because of the education, training and discipline given to us by the Jesuit priests, our teachers…………” As I have seen over the years having studied in different institutions and my children studied in different institutions, I would say that the Jesuit institutions are the best at least not money making racket. Keen eyes must be kept on locals too who are in hand with these criminal elements. Most of all, all such criminals must be executed and must not be tried, jailed and given free shelter and food. Sadly, the Railway security can’t even get rid of those drunkard men and women who make their home on Railway platforms. The Police have to be told and only then they act instead of policing and acting on their own.

Mr Pai…Creator has blessed every normal human being with brains …As you have mentioned nobody is held at the gun point for conversion.If an hindu brother or sister does not get any support from their own religion it is obvious that they have got support from the christian brothers /sisters and willingly agreed to convert themselves. I remember a pure brahmin fly in my neighbourhood had converted to Christanity because their ailing daughter was cured by prayers and novenas .So do you call this force conversion.Nobody approached them to convert. We are in a democratic country and every human has the right to follow what he or she wants. Having said that being a head of the group you should have 1st done a study before passing any remark on christians. Do all hindu kids get enrolled in hindu schools? why do hindus send their children to christian schools ? 1.Education in christian institution. 2.Medical help from christian run hospitals. Blame Christians for no reason. Appreciate if you could get your facts corrected before passing any statement.

Pai Maam, In 1951 when the first post Indian independence census took place the Christian population in India was 2.3%. 70 years later (today) it is slightly less at 2.2%. The Christian population has gone down by .01%. If conversions took place then the percentage of Christians should have increased and not decreased? Since you are aware of the source of “crores of funds coming from Christian countries” I hope you inform the concerned authorities so that they could put a stop to it. Just to set the records straight – There are no “Christian Countries” per say, however almost all countries in the world has Christians, and in many countries Christians are in a majority..

All human beings believe that there is just one Creator. who is our maker, provider, healer, and our care taker, and that is God. No one has ever seen God. God is not a Hindu, Christian, Muslim, or Sikh All other beliefs are termed as Faith and all rules, norms, and regulations are termed as Religion or Religious activities or Festivals. Each Faith has it’s own Religion, Customs, Traditions, and Festivals – Diversity has it’s own reason and charm. All Indians join in the celebration of Diwali – irrespective of it’s beliefs! Hindus come home to home for funds collection to host Ganpathi mandaps and festivals! No body has an objection to this and almost everyone pools in, irrespective of their Faith. Nobody objects anybody to paganism, or reverence to diety, saints, or statues. Nobody can force anybody to a certain Faith – it’s one own conviction that draws one nearer to other Faiths. Yes, Christianity is a Faith that takes care of all human beings by giving education, health, shelter, food, and rehabilitation to all – Check out all the Christian Institutions be it Schools, Colleges, Hospitals, Orphanges, Homes for the Aged, – most are non-Christians. Evolution takes place not only in life but also in truth and beliefs – so it is incorrect of one to state that because Hindu faith statistics shown a slight decrease Christianity has forced conversion upon them – there are other parameters too – inter-faith marriages, non-practice-unfaithfuls. Faith should not be a case for discussion or statistics – No one is born a Hindu, Christian, Muslim, or a Sikh – we are all a creation of one God – Man’s conviction and beliefs took to Faith and Religion. A person is no less without any Faith or Religion. Some people in India have nothing better to speak on and only bring about distaste and disharmony in their beliefs and opinion. Nobody is an authority over any Indian or any Indian belief or Faith. God is God above all and nobody is above God,

Mr.Pai talks about both money as well as force as the tools used for conversion in this article. Looks like he is conflating different issues spanning several centuries. I don’t recall any of my near ancestors ever talk about the western money used to lure our family into Christianity. They were not rich. Forceful conversions that took place in Goa was during the Portuguese rule a few centuries ago but Mr.Pai is talking about post-independence demographic stats. It’s not that I take pointless pride in having been born into a Christian family, because just like the other religions it’s also a basket case. So Mr.Pai should avoid getting into such silly matters. He is an educated man, he should uphold the dignity of his office. Personally he has achieved quite a lot in his life and I am proud of it. But this is irresponsible talking. Rise above these divisive politics.

Typically all these noise and distractive events are conducted in such a way as to distract students who are working hard to secure their future by preparing for their oncoming exams and entrance tests. But who cares, anyway these people have done nothing in their life so they have no desire to allow anybody else to do anything and hence they disturb everyone in the neighbourhood. so somewhere within Mangalore City limits, there is going to be day-night cricket matches and all over there will be more to come. The entry fee is Rs 25K and the prizes are worth Rs 5 lakh. So if cash prizes are worth Rs 5L then how much the organisers must be making?, as they are not doing this for charity (even if they claim so). Even charity events only donate the leftovers after deduction of profits. The event is supposed to be sponsored by 2 business houses. With the Karnataka elections round the corner, we do not have to think too hard who else is involved. Besides the noise part, I simply cannot understand what is this fascination of people to play under artificial lighting at night when we are already facing power cuts and load-shedding. BHC Aurangabad bench has addressed this matter in Anand Bhimrao Salvi case.

Obviously there will be confusion not only due to spelling a name, as a noun can be spelt anyway, but generally too, as there are just too many CARDS in India introduced by the whims and fancy of each ruling party and government that came along – Instead Indians were told that an Adhaar Card was introduced for obtaining a subsidy on LPG Gas and the present PM did away with the subsidy, thus nullifying it’s necessity. A Ration Card where most holders do not get nor take any ration, Voters Card that is required only once in 5 years and is not being asked to be linked. a PAN Card that does not state an Address and was asked as RTHE Card for opening a bank account, A Drivers’Licence that is not accepted to obtain a SIM and so on. Sadly Indians do not have a single Nationality Identification Card as our neighbouring countries have to prove their identity. Each card introduced simply supercedes another!

Fishermen and their families are certainly not a financially oppressed society. In fact they are the richest among the working class. Their catch fetches big bucks daily when one can see how much fish costs in the fish market. and the number of trucks daily from Malpe with the export of good quality and big sized fish to other neighbouring states, that fetches them good trade and income through agents seated at the Malpe Port side., and on top of this the government subsidizes the price of diesel fuel for their boats and trawlers. Fishermen and their families and community, in general, are well to do, and thus need to spread their financial wealth thru investment in town development, housing, healthcare, education, and commerce. Malpe is such a backward town, with no proper main roads, no proper drainage, no source of potable water, no Fish/Veg. Market, No Shopping Center, no big schools, no medical centers or a hospital, no proper public transportation system nor a good Bus Stand. Just a good beach that fetches good income in rents from innumerable eating stalls and other shops on the beach, and also good income to those engaged in all sorts of land, water and air rides, and parking charges. People in authority claim that encouragement on upliftment, tourism, etc. is being committed, but nothing on ground level is being done. One good look at Malpe town speaks a million words. Compensation of Rs.1 lakh or Rs.6 lakh is certainly not an upliftment, taking into consideration the loss of one’s breadwinner – No one would want a loved one and a breadwinner of a family to be dead and excited at the promise of a Rs.6 lakh compensation – Lakhs of Rupees does not fetch much in today’s India!

For example, How much of this fund was given to Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi? A list of benefactor Church Parishes, Orphanges, Old Age Homes etc. would leave out all doubts of such statements.

If you are truly for human rights and freedom, how come you are not uttering a single word on these issues? Finally, I demand an apology from media for publishing fake news accusing Sanathana Samstha of murdering Gauri Lankesh. Do you also demand an apology from media? Don’t you know that your double games are over? Gone are the days where you had entire media under your control to push twisted agenda, fake news and attack only one group. Due to social media, your agenda is fully exposed. Stop with your games. I’m with you if you are honest and willing to fight against all social evils.

I somehow came across your article when I was trying to find why there are NO RELIGIOUS HOLIDAYS OTHER THAN CHRISTIANS in USA. USA should be a secular country and still there are 2 FEDERAL holidays (Christmas and Thanksgiving) only towards Christians. That is absolutely absurd and your Article whining that you want MORE? So what is considered Secularism? Christians gets all their holidays and None for other Religions?
