  • From Vinayak on KMC Cancer Patients get Rs 37 Lacs Aid from Dr G Shankar

How many of them exist in this world like Dr. G. Shankar ? Its a true boon for the patients and no doubt of Dr. G. Shankar being blessed for being a humble man and doing a noble cause towards the needy. If we think and take the path by contributing small amounts, there would be no one called ” sick” and that humanity can live without any troubles. I humbly pray in god to bestow good health on Dr. G. Shankar and give him long healthy life.

Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow. Life is blissful only if we become a grateful person in life. If we are grateful, we will see the world differently. we will see that there are always good things behind everything that happens. we will realize that our life is wonderful, colourful and we will always be joyful. “Being grateful is always being joyful…! Taqiyya artist intentionally tries to ignore the difference between ‘recognizing marriage’ and ‘special treatment’!! Personal laws are a form of special treatment. On the other hand, Pakistan never officially recognized the marriage between Hindus or Sikhs. Imagine India not recognizing the marriage between Muslims or Christians ever since 1947!! Again, I can’t blame our friend – He is doing what he is taught to do!! The blame should go to lazy stenographers whose main job is to educate and spread awareness. The same Bakra-Bollywood intellectual mafia is a total dishonest entity and they have been hoodwinking public for too long. Here is something that these lazy stenographers and Bollywood unknowns forgot to tell you: —-> Did you know that the current system in Pakistan doesn’t recognize the marriage between two Hindus or Sikhs? Ever since its founding, it only recognized Muslim marriages and Christian marriages. In all these years, ever since 1947 partition, every Hindu who got married had to live without any legal recognition of his/her marriage!!! It was only 2014, Sindh province tried to address this issue for the first time. And, finally, two days ago, a bill was passed at the national level to recognize Hindu and Sikh marriages. Did any of the lazy stenographers report on this? I doubt if then even knew about it!! Pathetic!!!

Did I mention how the city gets one of the highest rainfalls and still fails to provide drinking water? If this is the best in state, imagine how bad other urban areas in our kannada naadu are!!

This BJP MLA’s and corporator is an envy to mathematicians around the world. His attention to detail is impeccable. In the past one ‘math wizard’ BJP MLA,Gyandev Ahuja kept inventory of 2000 bottles of liquor and 3000 condoms are used on the JNU campus every day. The genius politician has also counted number of bones thrown out by students after they’ve eaten non-veg food. BJP took Skill India seriously and specialised in Condom Counting from dustbins outside JNU to distribution center. The counting MLA or explicit video addicts party always shine in this field. This time they trained the gun on former health minister of Karnataka to debunk his image ahead of 2018 Karnataka assembly election. Jai hind

  • From Sheikh on Kalladka Bhat should be Expelled from DK - P V Mohan

Most of the RSS cadre go through an urban legend that gets circulated in their Shakas: Jana Gana Mana was actually written to greet King George V, and that it was made India’s National Anthem in place of Vande Mataram by the Gandhi-Nehru ‘high command’ in order to appease Muslims! The extent to which the Gandhi-Nehru duo was ready to appease Muslims would be underlined by the fact that today we have as our national anthem a song written to greet the British sovereign, they allege. Many swayamsevaks grew up listening to this urban legend and many RSS pamphleteers have put this in print with all rhetorical flourish. ‘Vande Mataram’, literally, “I praise thee, Mother”, is a poem by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay hate filled book. A hymn to the ‘Mother Land’, it played a vital role in the Indian independence movement. In 1950, the song’s first two verses were given the official status of the “national song”, distinct from the national anthem, Jana Gana Mana. “But it is the national anthem as decided by the Constitution.”Jana Gana Mana is today our national anthem. It has to be respected. There is no reason why it should evoke any other sentiment,”. Mixing hyper nationalism with communalism Sangh parivar wanted minority Muslims to portray as anti-nationalism.This is the main reason RSS Dislike Jana Gana Mana. Jai Hind

You have been reading your fav. Surathi all this while. Anyway, let me help you comprehend stuff and hey, pl. don’t blame me if almost all of it bounces off that boilerplate kopdi! In 1896, Theodore Herzl published ‘Der Judenstaat’ (The Jewish State) in which he asserted that the solution towards growing anti-Semitism in Eurpoe was the creation of a Jewish State. In 1897, the Zionist Organization was founded and the first Zionist Congress proclaimed its intention to “establish a home for the Jewish people in Palestine secured under public law”. Between 1904 and 2014, about 40,000 people settled (The second Aliyah) in the area now known as ‘Israel’ (part of the Ottoman Empire). During WWI, UK was sympathetic towards the Zionist cause. Then came the Balfour Declaration & as we well know, how YOUR imperialist masters are! And in no way can one draw a parallel between the creation of Israel and the demolition of a disputed structure like you have! I guess it is better you stick to your Surathi, dear Tooth Shaker. I guess you are referring to the same structure, right? – Shaker of Truth Bravo! You do learn at times, don’t you – especially when it is pounded into that boilerplate encased appendage that sits atop your neck! And, that “structure” my dear Shaker of Truth, was called Babri Masjid. You see, there may have been a Temple at the disputed site. However, as long back as 24 Dec., 1884, sub judge Pandit Harikishen Singh dismissed a suit for rights/construction of a Temple on the land that was occupied by the mosque. Justice FEA Chamier (on 18 Mar 1986) too dismissed an appeal filed in the lower court. He ruled that it was “too late to remedy the grievance”. A subsequent appeal was also dismissed by Judicial Commissioner Young on 1 dec 1986. (sources: wikepedia and others) Makes one wonder then, what on earth possessed the fringe elements to take the law into their own hands! See what jokes those fringees are! And, the other ‘house’ that was demolished in Mlore, it was their V OWN. In fact, the presiding judge THREW out the writ – terming it ‘frivolous’! Hahahahaha! • From Richard Dsouza on That's Not Smart! MCC ignoring Open Drainage causing Diseases

Drainage is not a problem! Crores of Rupees too are not a problem! Problems are: Proper Planning, Correct Engineering, Flawless Professional timely Execution, and Proper Usage, and sensible and responsible people! All the above parameters are missing in Karnataka as a whole, be it in the so called IT city Bangalore, or the so named Smart City Mangaluru, or the so called Temple Town, Udupi. Ancient open Storm waterways made of stone with proper laws of physics used to work well to take on any amount of rain and water during the monsoon season, and thereafter would remain clean and dry, during the days of the old – when there were no packaged products, no supermarkets, no apartment buildings, and no Municipality and only Panchayats and local residents were officials, who lived around and walked around everywhere – and they cared! Today, these Storm Water open drains are full all sorts, dumped by irresponsible people living around or from the neighbourhood. The Municipality or the Ministry of Public Works or the Ministers – whosoever are in charge, reflects the negligence on the overall tidiness or cleanliness of a town or a city. The present Indian PM started the Swwach Bharat awareness, with a lot of expo from all media, and even began charging for it in every sense. This has all fizzled out as quickly as it dawned – but the revenue it will generate, won’t! Rest is a tragedy like everything in India! Blame each other – BJP v/s Congress Congress v/s BJP. None of these party leaders ever walk the talk or the streets or the open gutters!

Special thanks to Alfie and this portal for providing fair coverage to great work done by Raamakrishna mission. I also respect Capt. Ganesh Karnik for showing leadership and doing the right thing. They have done this month after month last year. They did it when there was no money or fame involved. Just watch out – some individuals from ‘white shirt’ brigade may start slowly showing up in these events to promote themselves and justify pocketing 2000 koti rupaayees reserved for ‘smaaaaaart city’. I request media and journalists to keep an eye on those characters who are all talk, no action.

Kudla needs ‘smart people’ more than anything. The city is divided on religious lines. This results in selective outrage by public. As long as we focus only on ‘some’ corruption, not ‘all’ corruption, the sad situation of our city WILL continue for years to come. Here is the uncomfortable truth that many of us intentionally try to ignore: 1. All political parties are corrupt 2. If a politician is showing zero interest in ‘cleanliness campaign’ and tons of interest in ‘smart city’, it is a red flag!! Follow the money!! 3. Officials tend to be corrupt ONLY if it is endorsed by local population and elected politicians. If I have to bet my money (dollars), there is every indication that the 2000 koti rupaayees will be wasted just like every previous govt scheme in the past. Oh, by the way, there will be plenty of ‘udhaatana samaarambha’ events with those glowing politicians in white shirts and equally happy contractors/Engineers in the audience!! • From Original R.Pai on Youth thrashed for lewd messages to Girls at Kabaka

“For a chap who has confessed to be an atheist…” writes Joker Praveena Pinto. Great question. It’s important to address his confusion even though I typically find his gibberish very hard to follow. Let’s unpack this – Yes, I am a non-religious, science-loving person who doesn’t go to places of worship. This is where Joker Pinto’s question is very important – It sums up the amount of distortion and confusion created by regressive left and fake-secular groups in India. They have managed to create this false notion that atheists, secular and rational folks should totally refrain from commenting on any religious subjects/groups as all religions are equally bad/good (another lie they have managed to spread over the years). This is where new-atheist movement seems to be doing a great job countering this narrative at global level. For those curious minds, I recommend reading Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris. Coming back to joker Pinto’s confusion – Yes, atheists CAN comment on religious things. This is because religions are a reality that we ALL have to live with. Religious groups continue to influence our society, values, policies, politics and legal system even today. Bad behavior in the name of religion or selective bias against religious groups (as stenographers do to Hindus in India and Christians in West) should be called out. Finally, not all religions are equally bad. Some religions are way more dangerous than other religions. Only a fake, dishonest person will peddle the propaganda of all-religions-are-equally-good. – Truth seeker (originaltruthseeker@yahoo.com)

The bendor-well road is in bad shape for years now. MCC did not convert this 100-meter stretch to concrete for no reason. Usually, the padva road entry will be in bad shape and rest of the road was good. By leaving the bad road, MCC developed the other part of the road since new apartments are under construction. If you travel throughout the city, you will get such several roads. The road near Mount Carmel School is in a pathetic state for the last couple of years. The road leads to IT company and still MCC not repaired it. MCC boasts that it provides infrastructure for IT development and can’t provide a good infrastructure for existing companies. MCC corporators will be smart to loot the commission money sanctioned for the smart city and other projects. I think MCC will improve only the roads from which they get more commission.

Why should those docs “learn” any lessons for NO fault of theirs? Instead, do you think that patients should consult the local barber or grocer for their ailments? Dear Original R. Pai, We all very well know that, unlike fairy tales, in real life it’s always the weaker section which learns the proverbial lesson (or suffers); in this case the patients. We cannot visit hospital OPD during office hours, hence go to Clinics. Changing Doctor is neither easy nor recommended especially in case of critical ailments /Senior Citizens/ Children. So what are our options? So as I said earlier, my message to Traffic Police Department is – Don’t threaten us with Wheel Locks, just tell us “where to park”.

Bravo Traffic Police Department!! Fixing Wheel Locks!! Easy job, isn’t it? Install “No Parking” signs everywhere, but what about “Yes Parking” signs? Do nothing about the fact that the whole Falnir road doesn’t have even one building with basement parking. New buildings are still being given license without basement parking lots. There are private consultation clinics of about 50 Doctors in this road. Considering each Doctor has 4 patients waiting for him/her at the Clinic, we can work out the arithmetic which shows the failure of our system. Do not threaten us with Wheel Locks, just tell us where to park. Simple.. Isn’t it??

Good initiative but I would like to highlight a few things here which I have heard from serving paramilitary personnel (in this case CRPF). Compared to the Army, the Paramilitary Forces have more to lose than to gain. The job benefits are very low in comparison to the Army whereas the chances of death on duty are considerably high. As we know, CRPF is deployed in Naxal affected and other hostile areas where the chances of death per se are very high according to statistics. I agree that media coverage for these deaths is not extensive, hence it is not really known to general public. Hence I feel that, even though tribute should be paid to our brave martyrs in case of such unfortunate events, let us not forget our paramilitary personnel who get martyred protecting us from internal enemies.

There’s nothing SMART about Mangalore city and those behind such schemes if newly laid concrete roads such as the road Fr. Muller’s leading to the Morgan Gate have been constructed without the foresight of pavements and drainage. So much money is being spent – why do – whoever strategise such developments – why do they carry out the road works first, then the drainage, and then the pavement – in other SMART countries, these 3 basics infrastructure works are carried out as one project at one time! Right now, it’s very difficult to walk on this road or attempt to cross at this road.

It’s no surprising that Joker Pinto has managed to forget the difference between ‘trend’ and ‘isolated incident’. After all, it took him several months to understand a simple reference to ‘Biriyaani’. This is far more complicated by his pilikuLa standards. Let me try again – When I refer to mangaluru vimaana nildaana incidents or ‘peaceful’ activities all over the world – I am referring to the ‘trend’ here. What it means is that I can confidently predict the kind of people involved in future crime as well. This is not true with mobile camera, rapists or murders. Now, how do you explain this to geniuses from beef club whose only talent includes aping their foreign masters?

What a genius from the Beef club. – Mangaloori-Yumreeki Rampe Lmao! If anybody has an obsession for Beef, it is YOU Chaddi Sangha guys. Just see how many incidents have occurred all over India because of YOU geniuses from THE Beef Club. Now, just imagine the following situ: On not so fine a Sunday morning, Pedru Domel (PD) wakes up to water his garden and suddenly he hears his cow in terrible pain. On rushing to his byre/pen, he notices that his pet cow is defecating all over the place and in terrible agony. Now, PD, being a devout Christian knows that he has Sunday Services to attend. Nonetheless, his heart goes out to his Cow (Albert or fondly known as ‘Aboot’). “Ale go, Dulcine. Aboot ushar na. Thaka ami aspothrek voryan” – (Listen Dulcine, Aboot ain’t well. Let’s rush him to a Vet) he yells to his sister. Dulcine: “Aileeyn Aileeyn…”(Coming…) Both Pedru and Dulcine hurriedly move Aboot into their Tata Pickup and rush to the nearest Vet Hospital. En route, under some Banyan tree/katte, some Bajrangees are just waking up after a heavy ‘Sat nite Full Tite’ session. Some bajrangee opens his eyes, sees Aboot’s backside all leaky bundled in a Pickup rushing someplace. And he yells: “Inda maraya… pettha kanduver byav****’nakulu. Bottuga aklen”. All pick up their sticks, talwars, sickles, beedas, baatlis, sodas, beedis etc tart their bikes and waylay Pedru Domel. They bash him to within half an inch of his life. The cops are called. Pics of Aboot defecating all over are taken and published/circulated – right from Whatsapp to LinkedIn to Tinder. Some poor simple-minded Mangaloori-Yumreeki ThyampaNNA sitting some 7,000+ miles across the ocean(s) will see a pic, drop his chaddis and will raise a hue and cry and demand for a CBI inquiry if not a FBI one! The same could happen to some Illyas Badruddin or Ramakrishnavaikunta Baliga. These Pedru/Badru/Baligu’s would be thrashed first and then asked questions later. Now, Rampu…now do you know what I mean by Geniuses from Beef Club? Or, which part of it you didn’t understand? Let me know.

Not only vehicles, even state-of-the-art machinery that was given to the MCC by international organizations also has rusted into the ground. Instead of letting these vehicles rot, Government can at least get them refurbished and provide them to the rural panchayaths. Hope some sense will prevail….

Looks like they ordered these vehicles without looking into why they really need them, how would they use them, how much it would cost to maintain, how long would they keep them, and they would help a city that is really in need of garbage collection trucks, road repairs, and fixing the water supply system! It appears as though the DC’s order was a joke!Government’s attitude has only worsened in the last 50 years.

  • From Sharel, Evelyn & Michael Machado, Heidelberg, Germany on Monti Fest - A Unique Mangalorean Feast

Thank you, Dear Jessy, for your presentation of a beautiful reflection upon the treasured reality of Our Blessed Mother Mary, the commemoration of her Nativity and the magnificent traditional celebrations back in our home town, Mangalore with love, adoration and devotion. May our Holy Mary continue to bless you, your loved ones and all of us abundantly. The blessed Virgin Mary was born immaculate and full of grace, to be the Mother of our Saviour, the Spiritual Mother of all mankind and the most hallowed in God’s creation. She occupies an unique place in the history of salvation and she has the highest mission ever commended to any human. We rejoice that the Mother of God is our Mother too and call upon the Blessed Virgin as “Cause of our joy”, one of the most beautiful titles in her litany. In Goa & Mangalore the feast of Mother Mary’s Nativity, called the “Monti Fest”, is a major family celebration, serving as a thanksgiving festival, blessing the harvest of new crops and enjoying festive lunch with the blessed grain of the harvest. 9 days of novena followed by throwing of flowers on infant Mary’s statue, Mangalorean Catholics observe this feast worldwide with full fervour & ardour. This tradition in Mangalore is definitely unites and brings together all the family in the bonds of love.

Thank you, dear Eric, for your frank comments, well written and well understood. I have watched from a distance for the past three decades or more, the dedication and efforts rendered by you personally and also your close associates, Roy Castellino and Louie Pinto. Your contribution towards Konkany culture and Konkany music and lyrics is amazingly great indeed. We treat Mandd Sobhann as a “Performing Art Center” in Mangalore and we proudly proclaim this pride with as many westerners we meet and communicate with about our routs and attachment for Mangalore. Some of your future thoughts in expanding Mandd Sobhann for a Museum and many other ideas are indeed admirable. In an ever-growing Konkany society such as ours, there are obviously reasons for few others to express their opinions and comments which we must accept with a compromising mind and also a patriotic heart. Anything good that we propose for our community and our society, there are always opportunities for outside remarks that can be supportive or otherwise, but we must accept them with a positive spirit and seek possible compromises for a lasting solution. Best wishes to you and your supportive group. May God bless you all.

Instead of uniting Konkani people these so called writers are working towards destruction. Just call them for couple of events and give them chair on stage, garland them and then they will start appreciating. It is getting too much & all konkani people, businessmen and supporters should boycott these so called writers and their leader.

  • From Dominic on Cauvery row: Violence erupts in Bengaluru, 1 killed in firing

Just a thought. As of now, parts of Karnataka have risen in violent protests over release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu inspite of poor water situation in Karnataka. Even though violent protests and damage to public property is unjustified, the people over there feel so strongly about the water situation over there. The whole nation has sat up and taken notice. Flashback to few months ago in Dakshina Kannada district and what did we see happening during the protests against the unscientific Yettinahole project which seeks to take away water from DK and release it elsewhere. Did the government even consider our protests or even have an open ended discussion with the people over here. Did the state representatives, MP, ministers,MLAs and MLCs even exert any kind of pressure (even a nudge)to stop this project? Has there been any follow-up from the people who have been affected by land takeover issues or those people whose very existence will be affected if the river is diverted? Have we, the people made our voices heard to the deaf and uncaring politicians? No wonder, no one takes us people of DK seriously! What is the use of being a district with the highest number of educational institutes? Different parties only protest for different issues which will enhance their votebank share, but none of them join hands for a common cause which will mitigate the sufferings of the people. We only get nationwide attention when the moral police make their presence felt!

Demanding more gender segregation and making women hide their face destroying any sense of identity and self confidence!!- “When Brahma has made you a woman, you should lower your gaze and should not look up. You should put your feet together and you should not reveal what the garment and the veil conceals-Rig Veda Book no. 8 Hymn no. 33 V. no. 19 So the Rig Veda says that the woman should wear the veil. They should lower their gaze and should not stare. It is further mentioned in Rig Veda Book no. 10 Hymn no. 85 V. no.30 Unlovely is the person is the husband who covers his thighs with the garment of his wife So the Rig Veda says that wearing the clothes of the opposite sex (cross dressing) is prohibited. It is further mentioned in the Mahavir Charitra Act 2 Page 71 that When Purshuram comes, Rama tells his wife Sita that “He is our elder, please lower your gaze, and put on the veil” Rama tells his wife Sita to put on the veil and to lower her gaze. So it is clearly evident that even in Hindu mythology scriptures law is codified for women protect her dignity. I have no idea why this gentlemen is eager to strip women who wants to protect her modesty. It seems western influence and Sangh parivar ideology of hatred has certainly diminish the ability of self judging. He must start read is own religious scripture before finding an error in others. If you work in the middle east, be prepared to undergo sub optimal treatment as they are uncouth uncultured lot.

May imaginary gods from all religions bless these brave souls for rescuing her from savages. Notice how there is no reference to local police or legal system. This shows how human rights are nonexistent in medieval cultures. In fact they could have prosecuted her for approaching and staying with another man!!! It may not be a good idea to disclose some of the names of individuals involved. What a scary society!!! The Malayalam novel ‘aadu jeevitham’ captures every bit of this horror in great detail.

“Every time I fly to Mangaluru Vimaana Nildaana…..” – Yumreeki Thyampe …. which is.. once in 10 – 15 years & that too depending on your overseer Buffallo Billa’s mood-swings? Oh well, things do change in Mangalooru in a span of 10 – 12 years ya Rampa. For that matter, things change EVERYWHERE. And oh, nobody takes a train or bus to “FLY to” MIA! ALL have to take a flight and whether you do it ‘standing class’ (by Somali Airlines or Biman) or not is a different matter altogether! Btw, what does your pal, John Kori (JK), have to say about the chaos and filth of Mangalore? I mean, being the Secy of State for Yumreeka, he has a 360 deg view of the whole wide bad world and a blood-hounds sense of smell. Well, could you plz whatsapp him, ask him for his opinion and revert plz? And oh, before you boarded a ‘manji’ at Bunder to ‘migrate’ to Yumreeka, where did you hail from? Manhattan? Manchester? Or Manjeshwara? Or even Murudeshwara? Bol ya Rampa.

    • From Praveen on Chaddi Out, Trousers In! RSS to Don New Khaki Uniform

Each member donates A MONTHS income as Guru Dakshina…. – Aroona (Irani)? Well, there are some 6 million RSS chaddis in some 60k shakhas in India. Assume they earn an avg salary of 12k IRS per month. (some chaddis like Yumreeki RampaNNA’s earn 100 times more. So, EVEN if what you say is true, that figure is mammoth. It amounts to 6,000,000 Chaddis x 12,000 IRS = 72,000,000,000 IRS per YEAR which equates to about 1.080 BILLION USD per YEAR! Well, not exactly loose-change – EVEN for our Yumreeki ThyampaNNA who rides a Luna/Suvega out on the Yumreeki Range. So, where exactly does the ‘Dakshina Guru’ go? To ‘chase’ and break poor dalits ‘haddi-pasli’s? 😉

  • From Max and Jessie Rasquinha on Bishop Aloysius Unveils Prayer Card of 10th NYC of ICYM

What a fine and deserving tribute of love and affection for Saint Mother Theresa who has visited Mangalore so many times, and we were able to meet her twice. Saint Mother Theresa loved Mangalore because she physically witnessed the kindness and nobility of many people of Mangalore dedicating so much towards the needy causes of many others regardless of the faith or language. Saint Mother Theresa saw the kindness, generosity and hard work of so many nuns and priests working so closely with the Bishop and the Diocese and dedicating themselves selflessly towards so many deserving causes. Saint Mother Theresa will always have her close attention towards Mangalore and save us from all other calamities and protect us in our daily needs. In a country such as India, Saint Mother Theresa does not have to make many miracles. All that she has to pray and bless India in general and Mangalore in particular so that we enjoy our daily peace and harmony by working together and helping each other. These blessings are more valuable than any blessings, and we hope Saint Mother Theresa will remain with in all our daily journey of life.
