It’s time to counsel teachers to treat students with dignity and respect. The kids are life of their parents.Hope whoever responsible for my nephew’s death in other words is a murderer . He didn’t use any weapon but used his words to humiliate the kid and responsible for his death. May God bless him and his family.

  • From Max and Jessie Rasquinha on Bishop Dr Peter Holds 'Bandutva', Calls Leaders and Politicians to Make Mangaluru 'Smart City with a Heart'

What a beautiful message from our beloved Bishop to our Civic and Community leaders who gathered at Bishops House in order to interact with each other and share some of the thoughts and ideas in preparation of the “Smart City”. Let’s make no mistake that the “Smartness” of a vibrant City such as Mangalore is not rested entirely on the Technological innovations of the people. Mangalore can easily boast our hitherto advancement in the infrastructure of our Business environment, our Transportation and Communication, our Seaport and Airport, and also our varied involvement in the Education and Industrial advancement. We have so many bright accomplishments already in place. Now we have to sit together and share some of the highlights that we already have achieved and see what are the priorities ahead of us that suit our existing budgets plan our future cautiously and professionally. This requires research in our own hearts and see how we can all share the responsibilities with an open mind. This requires a revival of our conscience and perhaps even a change of heart so that we can welcome many more new ideas by encouraging many others to come forward and pool their ideas. We certainly wish to complement our Bishop for his foresightedness, and we pray that he will be able to group all our City leaders together with a view to seek the right consensus for an ultimate success. Our mutual respect comes mostly from our hearts, and with respect for one another we can perhaps make Mangalore the best City of India.

  • From Max and Jessie Rasquinha on Udupians run 5 K to spread awareness on drug abuse

Drug misuse awareness should be spread as widely and as deeply as possible in every segment of our society all over India. Every man and a woman – young or old, should be made fully aware of the consequences that are attached to our homes and our society. Misuse of drugs can destroy any individual or any family, and the epidemic will spread rapidly all over the neighborhood and the society that we live in. Countries such as India where population explodes every second day should watch the calamities caused by the misuse of drugs. It is a contagious influence that can spread faster than any other disease. The biggest threat to the developing world such as U.S.A. is the misuse of drugs, and the Government and the people are seeking every conceivable precautions to eradicate the spread of drugs that are being smuggled into the country thru so many ways and means. The Government is even considering seriously to erect some tall and long walls all across the borders to make sure that foreign drugs are not infiltrated into the country. Misuse of drugs therefore is a cancerous situation for a country such as India where population is easily vulnerable for any consequences. We must pray for Peace and Harmony, and therefore misuse of drugs could contribute to a national disaster that we must avoid under all circumstances and at any cost.

  • From Original R.Pai on Inciting Speech during Krishna Janmashtami, Kasaragod HIV Leader Arrested

For centuries, Hindu religion has been mocked and attacked by Abrahamic religions. The ‘false gods’ and ‘idol worshiping’ are the two main talking points used over and over in these centuries. In fact, many Hindu temples were destroyed by the followers of these religions. Nobody got arrested for this ‘hate speech’. The same type of double standards are being applied on majority Christians in Western world. They are held to a much higher standards while minorities are given pass in every incident. This is the failure of liberal democracy. I hope our society learns from these mistakes and don’t encourage ‘populism’. nobody wins in a populist, fascist society.

  • From Richard Thomas on 12 Tola Gold bars worth Rs 47 Lakh Seized At MIA

Mangalore Airport Authority should ensure a thorough background check of all Malayalees that are employed in all the agencies at the airport from Housekeeping to Airplane servicing contractors. A high percentage of gold smuggling is reported to be carried out by these Malayalee Carriers, obviously for reputed gold dealers. Who else can afford to make such high-value purchases? By now, Mangalore Airport Authority must have profited a ton of gold from all the smuggling operations carried out by these Malayalees from this particular hub. What encourages Carriers to smuggle gold from Dubai to Mangalore Airport is the real question. Obviously, everything seems well connected and organised!

  • From Max and Jessie Rasquinha on Awareness Programme on Substance Abuse, Anti-Ragging and Cyber Crime Laws held at Sahyadri College

It’s an ideal contribution on the part of Sahyadri College to come up with various gatherings and focus on the importance of avoiding the substance abuse and all other consequences that come out of it that can endanger the entire society. A country such as India where the affluence is gaining the momentum is likely to get influenced with all sorts of other temptations that can deteriorate the quality of the unique society where three major religions are blended so well. We speak on so many good occasions in America the uniqueness of India as an ever growing society where intellectual values are progressing so rapidly that will automatically bring steady flow of progress and prosperity in the ever-changing society. People are bound to embrace all kinds untimely vices as a result of growing population as well as growing economy. It is important for the society to group their ideas together and avoid all kinds of negative impacts on the society as a result of fast growth in an environment where more than ten million children are born every year and the fast progress can bring so many odd situations in the society. India is an unique nation where so many new developments can bring so many odd situations that may be difficult to control. Everything starts in the school environment where new ideas blossom, and many ideas can make a reverse curve. We pray to God that India will continue to move forward with all the positive thoughts, and that people will use all their new intelligence for the benefit of the growing population.

Neha committed suicide not because she was teased by her classmates for her partial hair styling. She committed suicide because her hairs started falling after the treatment. With any styling like straightening the cream, chemical should be applied two inches away from the scalp. But that beauty parlour person applied all the way through the scalp which led to hair loss. The beauty parlour should be sealed and that the person should be punished. It’s the fault of the beauty parlour. In India, anyone is opening a beauty parlour without having any degree or certificate. They only want their money and playing with patients life.

  • From Max and Jessie Rasquinha on Msgr Peter Paul Saldanha will Lead in God's Providence to Serve as Bishop of Mangaluru Diocese

A warm and sincere felicitations are awaiting your Lordship, Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha as you are preparing for the consecration in the near future as our 14th Bishop of Mangalore, responsible for 124 Parishes North of Kerala and South of Goa. A very prestigious yet very responsible position, because the Diocese of Mangalore has always been a powerful place where Christians have thrived for centuries as devout people of Catholic faith. We are all going thru difficult challenges in this world as Catholics. We are all obliged to lead a life of dignity as God fearing Catholics. But as Pope Francis himself is admitting while He is currently on a Holy visit to Ireland that we are facing some unusual and tough challenges where we are all accountable to so many responsibilities that we cannot deny. The Catholics of Mangalore have always proved to be not only above the National but also above the International standards. Our dedication towards humanity has always taken us far and beyond many other Indians of varied faiths because Mangalore has always been a center of secular values with the active presence of Catholic schools and colleges added with Catholic Priests and Nuns who have come to Mangalore as Missionaries more than 150 years ago. We have strongly imbedded our landmarks of dignity and integrity with a proven record of charity and generosity. You have the privilege of witnessing the magnanimous acts of nobility from 13 Bishops of Mangalore before you, and above all, you also have the gift of the presence of Bishop Aloysius who will always stand besides you and help you in all your new challenges. We pray to God, dear Bishop Peter Paul, our warm and sincere greetings as you create a new connection with the Vatican. May you remain happy and healthy, and may you remain successful in all your new undertakings as our new beloved Bishop of Mangalore.

  • From Max and Jessie Rasquinha on St Aloysius College holds ‘Inter-faith Harmony Day’ to mark 'Bakrid' Celebration

Gathering people of all faiths in celebration of various religious occasions is one of the finest way to exhibit our mutual respect for each other regardless of our own individual faith. We have learned this important lesson ourselves while we spent nearly twentyfive years in Saudi Arabia, nearly 40 years ago. Festive occasions enable us to express our appreciation and admiration towards other faiths, and make others realize how much we treasure for each other as far as our respect for each other and our faith. Let us not hesitate to express our respect for others, and their beliefs. Let us emphasize our values towards others and their religious beliefs while we preach and practice our own faith. India is a country where the multi-cultural and multi-religious values can be demonstrated in so many ways, and thereby also influence many others to join in our beliefs. This is one way to create communal harmony and peace that will allow us to share with many others and make a difference in this “small world, a beautiful world”.

  • From Max and Jessie Rasquinha on Mangalore Diocese being Good Samaritan in Aiding Kerala Flood Victims

The Diocese of Mangalore has an unique charm of its own when it comes to helping others. Mangaloreans are always in possession of a helping attitude in the event of any emergencies. People of Mangalore, regardless of their faith and culture, are always closely linked with each other, and they go out of their way to help others. • From SMR on Kollur Temple contributes One crore for Kerala and 25 lakhs for Kodagu flood relief

Humanity in Kerala floods from all over the world. Latest to join Pakistanis in UAE give up one day wage for victims.Kerala’s natural disaster has affected the collective conscience of a large group of people across the world with foreign countries such as Qatar and UAE coming forward to help the flood victims. Bollywood actors, certain politicians such as BJP MP Varun Gandhi, Congress party and Aam Aadmi Party have risen to the occasion to do their bit to help their fellow Indians in Kerala. However, not everyone has been as generous towards the flood victims as some known right-wing bigots launched a vicious campaign to promote Hindutva and mock the plight of the victims. One US-based NRI and a staunch proponent of vicious Hindutva agenda, Rajiv Malhotra wrote urging his Hindutva supporters to only donate for Hindus and not victims of other faith. His vile tweet read, “Please donate to help Kerala Hindus. Christians and Muslims worldwide raising lots of money to help mainly their own ppl & agendas. Soon it emerged that Malhotra’s tweet was not in isolation as this was retweeted by Mohandas Pai, a known supporter of the BJP and the RSS. Pai is also an investor in Arnab Goswami’s Republic TV. Mohandas Pai is one of the advisers to the government of India on many areas. I’m sorry but if the hate that some right wingers are propagating here during the Kerala floods is not making you uncomfortable, you are made of stone and nothing will ever move you. These creeps are no longer in the shadows. They are all out. Brazenly spreading their propaganda. This is so bigoted I don’t have words for it. They hate women and they hate the people dying in Kerala floods. Remember that a flood does not discriminate. It does not see religion, caste, gender. Is our responsible media consider fourth column of the democracy will make this hate mongers humanity is above hatred? Jai hind

  • From Max and Jessie Rasquinha on Floods in Kerala - Changes in Pattern of Trains

India has come a long way in achieving our transportation goals all over India in order to cope with our ever-growing population. Our bus stations, our rail stations, and even our airports are pretty well occupied with the ever-increasing traffic. There is so much a nation can do, and India is doing very well under all the prevailing circumstances. More than sixty years ago, when I left Mangalore for the first time, we had only one train to Bombay, and that too from a place called Kadur where a train would go all the way to Puna en route to Dadar, Bombay. Today, we notice so many modes of transportation including dozens of daily buses and even planes thru various connections. The population of India for the past sixty years has gone up by a billion more people. This is beyond anyone’s comprehension. Yet, we are surviving as a progressive nation. We are coping with the situation with whatever new thoughts and plans. We have to be grateful to God for giving India some of the best planners who have a vision for India’s progress. There is so much that can be criticized yet there is much more to be praised and admired for who we are and where we have reached for the past sixty years, ever since we left Mangalore in search of a daily bread.

  • From RICHARD THOMAS on President-Elect of DK Bus Owners Assn Dilraj Alva Aims for Big Change in Bus Service

Mr. Dilraj Alva, congratulations on your new appointment as President of DK Bus Owner’s Association. Besides the three points that you have highlighted, the following issues are also to be looked into: 1. Overcrowding the bus, i.e. packing the bus like sardines in a tin can – it does not serve them as a comfortable and safe mode of transport. 2. BEGA BEGA this attitude of conductors must be ridden off – people must be made to comfortable board the bus and to take a seat, and only then the bus should be signalled to proceed. 3. The steps of the most buses are way high, and it is difficult of the special needs, ailing people, and the aged to board and alight the buses. 4. State Bank Bus Station must be maintained for potholes, open urination, and all types of people and even the homeless and beggars occupying the bus stops. Take a good look at this Bus Station and see for yourself. The authorities in Karnataka and more so in DK are not at all interest in the good of the people. All they are interested is in GST and give nothing in return.

It’s quite sad to see Indians still sing ‘Saaare jahan se accha’ – an Urdu song composed by Allama Iqbal (ideological father of Pakistan) even after he rewrote this song in 1910 to express his Islamic worldview. This shows a complete lack of our own history. Even our Armed Forces play this song ignoring how the song was written by ideological father of Pakistan who didn’t believe in ‘Hindustan’. No wonder India is a third-world country filled with idiots unaware of their own past. Don’t blame me for spreading the truth – Look up and read history.

In an ever-growing populated country such as India, the focus on “gender taboo” is considered to be important. The women of India will continue to bring all the important and attractive attention from the rest of the world because Indian women are active and brilliant. Indian women are becoming increasingly important in our Armed Forces, Aviation and also in many Law Enforcement Divisions. The ratio of women to men is becoming closer than ever before. Our Educational systems as well as our Medical systems, Indian women are contributing a great deal, and this trend will continue to grow. Let the development of “gender taboo” receive the best possible focus in our changing society, and I is important.

  • From Max and Jessie Rasquinha on ICYM Mangalore Diocese celebrates National Youth Sunday all over the Diocese

Diocesan youth are growing and multiplying year after year. While many of the Christian youth are leaving their homes in search of better prospects many of the young men and women stay behind and remain in their native place as long as they can. These young men and women watch the TV programs, listen to radio commentaries and read all kinds of magazines and newspapers and get familiarized with all that is going on in the rest of the world. Many of the youth are ambitious in achieving what others achieve in different parts of the world. These young men and women also come out with their own desires and share their ideas with many others for their support. Our young men and women therefore deserve all kinds of encouragement so that they are able to vent all their ideas and feelings and seek other’s support. This is where our Parishes are involved for their active interventions and support. Whenever there are financial contributions parents, guardians or even the Parish priests become little hesitant to come forward. This is where our young men and women get frustrated for lack of support. This is where we have to get involved and study their plans and aspirations and see how we can motivate them and fulfill their desires. All plans and programs generated by our youth do not have to be implemented immediately. But these plans need the basic support and assurance from all those that are responsible, so that these plans can be discussed and investigated for gradual considerations and implementations. Our youth need our basic support so that they remain satisfied and the life moves along.

The name “Econovanza” is a new name for myself. It is also a fanciful name for young students of St. Aloysius College to appreciate that the 139 year old focus on Economics has successfully produced thousands of students to groom themselves and molded themselves into an Educational discipline that has produced so many students bright in their dedication of planning, budgeting, thinking and acting in order to end up with a successful bottom line in whatever they do. Exhorbitant spending has become a chronic disease with most of the business entrepreneurs where they have diverted a large chunk of their capitol for various projects with the hope that they will recover all their investment in a timely manner. Many of them have succeeded while many of them failed. So many major Corporations have turned into a profitable venture whereas many have collapsed. We all have to take certain risks in life, but so long as we have exerted our wisdom and finance properly and cautiously we should always end up with a green bottom line. We are proud that our students have been blessed with all the favorable exposure in their pursuit of sustainable Economics, and we wish them continued success in all that they learn in their Academic studies.

It is Mrs Mangalore and not Kudla as reported. Kudla is a forgotten name given by the ancient people. Why do you call Chennai as Madras? Why call Calcutta as Kolkata? Move with the times man. Mangalore is a cosmopolitan city and no longer confined to Kodiyalbail area. Is Chicago just about West Devon street? See the big picture and do not confine yourself to the narrow walls of division. Kodiyal was what Konkani speaking people of yesteryears referred to. Kudla was the terminology used by Tulu speaking population. It is Mangalore, derived from Mangala Devi.

I doubt very much if they had just Mexican dishes they may not be successful. In India all ethnic outlets have local dishes. General public are not exposed to other foods as we Americans are. Besides In USA all are immigrants except Native American Indians. All immigrants bring their knowledge of their own regional authentic food. Just like India different regions in Mexico has different variations of Mexican food. I was fortunate to taste food from different regions. In India I doubt very much the owners have studied or travelled to learn how to cook authentic Mexican fare. The sign as Mexican restaurant is just a sales gimmick to be different than other restaurants. One develops a taste for food all over the world. It is acquired taste. I for one likes to mix most foods with chilies, hot sauce, habanero etc yo spice it. Certain parts of Mexico do not like spicy.

We have been hearing so many positive highlights pertaining to Alva’s University but we have never had the opportunity of visiting this fine Institution so far. We have visited Moodibidri on few occasions, but on our next visit we must try and visit this fine Institution. Owning a private Educational Institution in a country such as India is attached with multiple advantages. Firstly, the members of the faculty could be selected properly and those faculty members can be trained well and molded well to suit various disciplines. Students are eager to get involved with as many disciplines so as to acquaint themselves with various lines of trades and professions. They can then mold themselves well to the discipline of their choice and become specialized in the type of intellectual discipline that is good for them and the students. Students are the major focus in any Educational endeavors of our life, specially in India where our Schools and colleges are full to the rim. The faculty members have basket full of opportunities to get specialized so that they can groom a batch of students in a particular discipline and attract the Institution for more and more students. As indicated in your article, we appreciate the FOUR WORDS such as “Reliable and Trustworthy Position” in the field of journalism. There is so much to grasp for our young students in order to be specialized in their own field of disciplines, and we wish Alva’s University best of success in all their future endeavors towards the welfare of our young men and women of tomorrow.

Thank you so very much, Mangalore Toastmasters Club for completing 15 glorious years and providing so much of dedication towards dozens of Members, many of whom have turned into professional Leaders as well as Speakers. The enthusiasm and support rendered by Mangalore Toastmasters towards the Community as a whole was indeed marvelous and indeed speaks in volumes. Our dear ancestral home is always at the disposal of the Toastmasters, but unfortunately, due to health reasons and other circumstances, we have realized our own limitations. Our best wishes are always extended to Mangalore Toastmasters, and we shall always proud of their services for the enrichment of our society in Mangalooru.

Indira canteen is aimed to provide food for the economically drown trodden in the society. I hope good use by deserving people is made. Chandrahasa canteen also provided meals for Rs 10/ . He did it out of concern for the poor. He did not belong to any party. Ajjamma in udipi did the same. While the cost of living in India has gone disproportionate to the income, it is reassuring to see that hope is there and all is not lost.

In the recent past I had parked a friend’s car in front of the dispensary of my doctor but the policeman evidently photographed the number plate and sent a Notice to the owner with a Fine demand. I took the demand Notice to the traffic police station & paid the fine. Dear Ms DCP; why not follow this same policy all over Mangalore, with an additional sticker on the front glass, left hand side, in flourescent color which cannot be removed by the car owner. If removed without the fine being paid, the fine should be doubled. If fine not paid within a fixed time, double the fine. (appreciate this can only be for locally registered vehicles; so for the others the wheel lock system must be continued or an alternate found on an All India basis).

I just wonder if those Judges were taken on a tour of Vision during night time. Local Kannada Paper published the photos of Garbage Pile behind MCC Building, plus behind MCC Commercial Complex and on the nearby street, amounting to 2 tipper loads. Look at the garbage in Paldane Mangala School Area which is close by to Mayor’s Residence and also his ward. Are all these Smart City Projects to swindle the Tax Payer?

  • From Richard Thomas on 'Kumaraswamy Namma Mukyamantri Alla'! say Fisherwomen during Protest for Neglecting their Community

The Fishing community of Malpe and Kemmanu are the richest people in Udupi. Hundreds of trucks leave Malpe Port every morning and evening loaded with tons of prime quality fish to AP, TN, Bangalore, Kerala, and Goa, during the fishing season. Then there are Fish Canning Industries belonging to rich entrepreneurs and also to politicians. The leftover fish is then bought by a group of Fisherwomen in the auction, and then sold from building to building, and others sell at the Fishmarket. The ex MLA did nothing for the benefit of the people of Udupi is checking this trade. Fisherwomen at the Udupi Court Road Fish Market sell Medium size Pomfrets, and Kaane for Rs.1000.- per Kg. and Black Pomfret (Halwa) and Seer Fish for Rs,700.- per Kg., besides small Mackeral and Sardine for Rs.100.-/per 5 Pcs. or 20 Pc. The people of Udupi simply cannot afford to purchase fish any longer – only Hoteliers buy fish at that price and sell one single piece of Seer Fish or Kaane for Rs.200.- in their restaurants. There is absolutely no control on prices, quality of fish, nor check on hygiene in this Fish market – in which angle does this editor of the article find this Fish market Hi-Tech whilst still complaining of Fans not working, Floors being slippery, etc. This market was under construction since the last 10 years, just like the Highway that is under construction since 10 years. Many MLA’s and Parties have come and gone – but the state of affairs never change in Udupi or it’s districts – people only want to be photographed at the inauguration and want the power to rule. The Fisherwomen still shout ‘AY AY EDI BALLE’ at the top of their voice, and quote such high prices, simply not affordable by anyone. Instead Chicken sells at Rs.142.- a Kg. at the adjacent Coastal Chicken shops that are so clean and hygienic and run so professionally. It is better for nutrition and health rather than eating Fish.

Creation of a Konkany Sangha at St. Aloysius was a marvelous idea. It helps the Konkany speakers and makes them feel proud that the language is getting more prominence in the Jesuit College where there are substantial number of Konkany speakers. People will only realize the value of knowing an additional language like Konkany when you are far away scattered from the native land. Others also feel proud of you when you display them the knowledge of a foreign language in spite of the fact that we have left our mother country long time ago. Our language, our culture, our traditions are all very valuable to us regardless where we are and how much we use a language known to us.

Mangalore has all the potentials to grow with some of the most prosperous Christians who are so closely united with the rest of Hindus and Moslems. Mangalore is a growing city with increased population with added possibilities of growth and prosperity. The Christians of Mangalore have an important role to play in the progress of the entire Nation. City of Mangalore is moving forward swiftly and progressively. Obviously, the Social and Economic outlook of the City is also changing steadily with growing infrastructure, bigger roads, bigger high rises and many other improvements in the City. The City needs a face uplift with greater spirits so that people enjoy the benefits of all the progress that is bestowed upon them with greater Educational, Industrial and Economic growth. Ultimately, the major beneficiaries of all the progress should be for the people and to the people of Mangalore who will come forward and give back more support to the City. This is where and how the people can encourage all the Investors and Entrepreneurs to divert more and more for the growth of the City. This is how we invite and encourage all the rest of India to visit Mangalore and dedicate more for the greater progress of the city proud of their secular values, their unity and also their diversity. The more and more people give back to the City will make the City grow in all shapes and patterns thereby paving way for the new generation to focus their future attention towards Mangalore, our beloved home town that we too can visit more often.

In the mid sixies Mere Mehboob starring Rajendra Kumar and Sadhana was released. Sadhana wears a burkha even in the class. I am sure all of you remember that immortal song Mere Meheboob tujhe meri Mohabbat ki kasam. India is a secular country. Muslims can wear burkha. No one is objecting. I do not see any thing wrong in a burkha except that it may make the person a bit sweaty especially in the ‘kudla’ weather. I feel sorry for the college authorities who have to deal with trivial issues rather than focussing on education. I particularly look forward to the views of J R Lobo, Ivan D Souza and Khader. Why is the man not wearing a head covering? Secondly Even the prince of Saudi Arabia said in an interview to CBS that, it is not necessary to cover the face as long as you are dressed modest. Cover your head and leave your face open in classrooms. You are in the company of women there. Secondly ask the man o cover his head as well as men from Middle East cover their head.

Bishop aptly urged the Catholic Sabha to work towards empowering the community to bring it at par with the society in general encouraging the community youth to work in the main stream. I congratulate the office bearers for efficiently organising the event. However there was a delay because of lengthy introductions and descriptions which could have been avoided enabling the proceedings to end in time.

Encouraging people in India to grow more jack fruit trees in order to produce more jack fruits is always a marvelous idea. Let people be encouraged to produce any kind of fruits and vegetables that people can consume and make a decent living for themselves and their families. Consuming jack fruits in order to prevent or control the disease of aids in India is also equally important, but initially let our masses of people learn how to be cautious in their daily pursuit of life and save themselves from contracting aids. That is the prime purpose of educating our people and save them from any deadly disease such as aids. There are dozens of precautions and preventions available for people to avail of and save themselves from aids or any other deadly diseases. People need education and therefore let people get all the educational benefits in order to save the humanity from any contagious and deadly diseases.

  • From Max and Jessie Rasquinha on Talents Unleashed at St Aloysius B. Ed College 'Talents Day 2018'

B.Ed students have a tremendous responsibility ahead of them when they complete their Graduation and seek employment as Teachers in different Educational Institutions all over India and abroad. B.Ed students have one common goal in their minds and in their hearts and that is to seek a suitable Teaching profession in any reputable Institution and provide the very best to their students. India is certainly a place where Teachers have tons of new challenges to shoulder because the students depend on the new talents and new creativities that the Teacher brings to the Institution. ‘Talent” is the Key that each and every Teacher has to bring along with him or her when they begin their profession as a Teacher or a Professor in any Institution. Each and every Teacher has her or his own talents hence it is highly competitive area where a Teacher has to gather all the support and blessings from others in order to share the talents with the entire Institution and make the talents come into action. Talent is an inherited gift that each and every Teacher wishes to bring to the students and the Teacher needs all the understanding and support from the rest of the Institution. The spirit of Cooperation and Collaboration plays an important role, specially in India, where each Teacher has to compete with many others in order to make sure that his or her talents enjoy the support from all the rest so as to make his or her talents become a reality. Each of us therefore have preserve our inner talents and make sure we present our abilities to all our superiors in order to enjoy the best possible support. We wish all the B.Ed Teachers best of success in all their undertakings so that they receive the best possible support from all their surroundings, and that they prove their inner talents freely and willingly in order to enable the students get the best possible ultimate benefit. Talents in a young student are abundant, but everyone is not fortunate to produce their own talents so freely and willingly in a country such as India where the growing population of students bring growing competition in our every day life, particularly in our school environment.

They will charge for everything without a proper bill, on the top bully you if you complain. It’s true when they tell you someone will call in next 24 hours, the 24 hours never come and so does the. It’s really a bad state of affairs Mr Ratan Tata. We believed in the name and in you, but if nothing is done you might loose your so called valuable customers.

  • From Max and Jessie Rasquinha on Mangaluru Should not be Portrayed Negatively - Vipul Kumar

We fully and wholeheartedly endorse the views expressed in this article as far as the positive outlook of the City of Mangalooru. The City is moving forward very well as far as the Economy of the City and all the surroundings. We are certainly a strong and vibrant Education Hub of South India. With the benefit of Education we can and we have accomplished so many positive things in and around Mangalore that have helped us to move forward so well so far. Like any other Cities of the world, each City has its own problems, and that is part of the risk of progress we all have to face in our daily endeavor of life. The more progressive we are in our daily perception of life, the better we are in all our daily performance of life. The more benefit we shall be for ourselves and our people of a “model city” which has now become one of the “Smart Cities” of India. As already said, we all have to accept our weaknesses with a willingness to learn more and improve in our future endeavors of life. We have to help one another in order to make sure that Mangalore moves forward with pride so that we can enrich our Education even further, we can enrich our cultural, social and Economic endeavors in addition to our Religious values. We therefore pray that Mangalore will continue to strive for greater progress and prosperity under the banner of unity and diversity. Our secular values have to blend as deeply as possible in order to make many things possible for the betterment of Mangalore, our beloved home town that we love so much

Well, truth is bitter sometimes. There are two faces to this problem. On the one hand, there is still enough racist tendencies in Western society. On the other hand, Indians are notorious in abusing the system. Here in US, they have done so much damage by providing fake certificates, resumes and documents. Among Indians, the people from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are the most corrupt people. It’s very disturbing to see the magnitude of corruption by telugu speaking people here.

This guy and his negative mindset are symbolic of everything wrong with our society. He would do anything to mock and accuse Hindus, BJP and Narendra Modi. It’s one thing if he is criticizing Modi’s social or economic policies. He has all the right to do so. But, why so much negativity and immature behavior in attacking a positive program (fitness challenge) that is aimed at making people aware of fitness and health? I guess when you have so much hatred in your heart, everything is possible. By the way, I haven’t heard him utter a single word on Islamic rituals and superstition. Mangalore is a city and not a jungle and in a city if trees come in the way of broadening road or improving it they should be cut down because they not only hamper traffic movement but also pose risk to the pedestrians.

  • From Arun on Heegu Unte, Part-I! Mangaluru-'SMART CITY'-What? Name it as 'FLOATING CITY'!

A very good initiative by Team Mangalorean. Please highlight all issues created by MCC. People pay TAX to get better service but look like the TAX payers money is looted by the MCC engineers and corporators? What is the use of paying TAX when we are not getting basic infrastructure?

  • From Max and Jessie Rasquinha on Orientation for Humanities Stream at St Aloysius College

Humanities Program as part of the Academic discipline at St. Aloysius College is a good initiative so that our students are able to achieve various disciplines at the Jesuit Institution in Mangalore. Let the students get the best possible benefits from the St. Aloysius College in every kind of Education so that many young men and women are able to avail of the intellectual facilities that are made available for them. There is no limit for learning. So long as there are qualified faculty members available in the Institution, let St. Aloysius College provide wide variety of Educational programs so that the students may qualify themselves in various available programs that could lead students to different professions not only in Mangalore but far and beyond. India is a country where Education thrives in so many different directions. I had visited St. Agnes College several years ago when Sr. Olivia was the Principal. Dr. Olivia introduced me to all the faculty group and I was amazed to meet so many Professional Faculty members specialized in Zoology. That enabled me to realize that there is a tremendous scope for Zoology related studies in and around Mangalore. Let the students of Mangalore get the benefit of all the Educational disciplines available for them, and let the choice be placed in the hands of the students and their respective parents and/or guardians. Sky is the limit for learning in Mangalore.

  • From Bhat on India has Witnessed Extraordinary Transformation Under Modi - Nalin Kumar Kateel

We shall put our hands together for the extraordinary achievement of India under Prime minister Modi. But what did Mangalore get? Our highways are in the making for decades. Our trains are being hijacked by Kerala/Tamilnadu. Our smart city is only on paper. Our industrial estates are in a pitiable condition. Our jobs in the railways, hospitals are monopolised by outsiders. Our water is no longer ours. Why our MPs/MLAs do not fight for what is rightfully ours like their counterparts in the neighbouring states?

  • From alphonso dsouza on Sasihithlu Beach Clean Drive by Eco Warriors and KMC-Attavara

pleased to see the efforts made by our youngsters. The hygiene must be imbibed in a child when small. If this is practised vigorously, the generation can see the result. It is sad to see even literate people throw garbage in public places. Our TV channels can also spare a 3 minute per day on Hygiene and cleanliness drive. There must be a will.

  • From Original R.Pai on Swacchata Abhiyan by RKM Completes 35 Weeks

Congratulations! You are doing an amazing work. I still don’t see an ex-MLA who should have plenty of free time now. I guess, he is still ‘busy’ doing god knows what!! On the same note, I encourage the newly elected MLAs to start showing their support to this campaign. If you ignore, you will also be sent home just like previous MLAs who ‘acted’ too busy to show up for these events.

  • From Max and Jessie Rasquinha on 'Beat the Plastic Pollution'! Sahyadri College takes part in 'World Environmental Day'

Sahyadri College is ideally located in such a way that they can easily conduct their own courses on a regular basis on Environmental issues that relate to Mangalore as a growing City. Sahyadri is located ideally at a lovely river front where we can do extensive research on preserving our river front by keeping a close watch on the daily activity of the area and save the river from any kind of unwanted pollution. Cleanliness on a daily basis of a river front requires constant vigilance and control. We have to educate people on a regular basis and make sure that each one adheres to all the required precautions and preventions. Rivers gather lot of debris that keeps floating from place to place that requires constant surveillance. What a joyful opportunity for the young students of Sahyadri College to learn some of the new techniques attached to maintaining cleaner river fronts so that all the surrounding inhabitants will learn the cleaner process over a period of time.
