“Hindu brethren have lost the moral authority to object to this when they have one of the largest ‘paramilitary’ forces under various banners in their right wing. How can they utter a word on this matter?” – Henry James before quoting a racist, colonialist PM from Great Britain Well, when you see two people fighting in an alley, if you assume that both parties are at fault, you are totally wrong. There is a good chance that one of them initiated the fight and second guy is jut trying to defend/protect himself. Same way, there are two mindsets in this world – expansionist and protectionist. Arabs and Whites belong to first category while pretty much every other ethnic group falls under second category. A quick look at India’s history tells you enough about devastation and disruption caused by expansionist groups in socioeconomic aspects of India. When Sanathana dharma forces start fighting back, you can’t put them in the same category as those aggressors who are causing chaos all over word. Shivaaji, RSS, Modi – All are reactionary forces trying to defend an expansionist mindset introduced by foreign invaders.

If I had only looked at the photos in this news article I could easily have misled myself into thinking that this event took place somewhere outside the Abbottabad military academy. Only a fool would assume that the men in uniform in these photos are as harmless as G4 security personnel/chowkidaars. You can call it by any name, be it ‘unity march’ or anything else but a rose by any other name smells just as interesting. The only people missing in this celebration are Lobo, Ivan and Rai. That said, my dear nationalist Hindu brethren have lost the moral authority to object to this when they have one of the largest ‘paramilitary’ forces under various banners in their right wing. How can they utter a word on this matter? Country goes to the dogs when you can not object to the objectionable because you have no moral high ground to speak. That’s why Churchill once said India is ‘ungovernable’.

Well, I know you share the same ‘hotte uri’ mindset with this guy in report who is more interested in lecturing Hindus and ModiJi than actually doing something to address the issue. @ Dear Sharia Pandita – I think you are living in an alternative world. The imaginary saffron terror exits only in the lexicon of jihaadi literature. The entire world is worried about your peaceful community. It’s the main issue debated everywhere from Puttooru to Paris. What are you doing to address this crisis in your own community?

India has no future if the various communities seek security through paramilitary organizations. Gandhi, Nehru, Ambedkar, Naoroji and other leaders who built modern India were moulded by British and American liberal political thought. Indians must be educated in the thought of Anglo-American political philosophers such as John Locke, John Stuart Mill, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton and James Madison if Indians wish to avoid the fate of Pakistan. Anglo American political philosophers should be translated into the major Indian languages and taught in schools.

True education value upholds the dignity. Indian democracy has been brought to a level of ‘gutter’ politics by present ruling party. It was rightly said by former Prime Minister Manmohan ‘it has been his general practice not to respond to motivated criticism directed personally at him’. “It has been my general practice not to respond to motivated criticism directed personally at me. My general attitude has been “Hazaaron Jawabon Se Acchi Hai Meri Khamoshi, Na Jaane Kitne Sawaalon Ki Aabru Rakhe”. But this is one occasion where I do want and I ardently wish that I should be given the opportunity to speak to the Parliament and also the public at large, take them into confidence,” said Singh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day speech sought to bring back the focus on Balochistan, nearly seven years after an India-Pakistan joint statement mentioned it, which led to an outcry over the UPA government’s Pakistan strategy. The need to speak up about human rights abuses in Balochistan cannot be overstated. However, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi ostensibly expressing solidarity with the people in one the most underreported conflict zones in the world on August 15 was arguably a case of the worst possible person speaking up at the worst possible time. Modi’s message wasn’t just inopportune because it came amidst turmoil in Kashmir, where 66 people have been killed in the past month. Was born in Karachi and feel sad upon the fact today that Karachi isn’t part of India and India ‘incomplete’ without Pakistan’s Sindh says Advani. Before Balochistan falls back will Sindh will be attached for LK Advani dream to become reality along with Balochisatan? PM Modi should stop sending diplomacy ‘Birthday messages’. He should act tough on ISI in his own BJP and threat perception across the western border. Only ‘mann ki baat’ , ‘raincoat bath’ cant save the nation. It needs the walk the talk. Jai Hind

These spies have been accused of taking out Government of India’s important information and sending them across the border to Pakistan. Shockingly, one of the arrested spies was associated with ruling Bhartiya Janta Party’s IT cell. Dhruv Saxena joined BJP IT cell last year.In order to earn money he started sharing country’s secret information with ISI. It is very common to resort to crime like robbery when someone is hopeless and jobless. But sharing nations sensitive intelligence within the ruling party behind Chief Minister is too dangerous for the national security. Interestingly it is not first time MP Chief Minister picture appeared but last time ‘saffron terror’ convicts are found having meeting were widely circulated. The information coming out into the public domain is absolutely shocking. It appears that those issuing certificates of patriotism themselves have a lot to answer for. Even as the BJP and RSS liberally dole out anti-national labels to others, in reality it is them who have links to the ISI, as this Madhya Pradesh case has exposed. Dhruv Saxena, Manish Gandhi and Mohit Aggarwal were active workers of the BJP.” If BJP is serious about national interest Supreme court appointed independent probe with day to day hearing of hearing captured digitally by neutral judges should be appointed. Agree with Henry James. We seem to be too obsessed with gender, minority and other identification these days. While it is not necessarily a bad thing to encourage people from all walks of life to have better access to power and opportunities, it shouldn’t be the only goal. Moreover, with somalia-level infrastructure in the city, the need of the hour is a clean, able and experienced leader to set things right.

How many of the concerned people over here are living a sustainable lifestyle respecting animals, nature and resources? Or, is this just another attempt to lecture others while living in concrete air-conditioned houses enjoying all the perks of urban life? Remember – mangaluru city was built over generations after clearing forest/trees in the area. In my opinion, we need to have a macro understanding of situation. True – we are consuming resources in an unsustainable fashion. Pollution is a sad reality. But please stop bringing your religion into this. We shouldn’t turn this discussion into another modi-bashing opportunity as one Richard did. Mangalore is a city filled with religious bigots who won’t even volunteer to clean streets once a week for political/religious reasons. How can we expect them to be nature lovers?

In an intellectually honest society, this would have been openly discussed. Unfortunately, in a thirdworld country, such questions or discussions would be swiftly censored.

  • From Melroy C.F.Fernandes on A Senior citizen’s fight for justice

I shall state the bitter truth: Q. Is it a law of jungle or is there any respect for laws of the land? A. The story by itself proves what we all commonly experience in our day-to-day life : YES, it is law of the jungle out there. NO, there is no respect for the laws of the land(such things are left to the ordinary powerless people) by the vast majority of citizenry and the authorities. Q.Is our society so callous as to be blind to the troubles a senior citizen couple at the fag end of their lives? A. Yes, the vast majority of so-called “society”has no time for seniour citizens and weaker sections of society. They are too busy living in a make-believe world. This is true not just today but even when seniour citizens were young citizens. The cycle repeats!

  • From Henry James on Woman Power! Next MCC Mayor will be a Woman?

This is the reason we lag behind as a country. Water tanks are already making frantic trips due to water shortage but look at our priorities. People are obsessed with electing a woman to the post through the back door. Why should gender be relevant when it comes to a job? Hire the best and the most experienced giving no relevance to the gender. Looking at the basic infrastructure in Mangalore it does not look like it has been run by officials with ‘vast experience in MCC activities’. Having a bunch of alphabet-soup qualifications in itself does not make any person qualified for a job either. Prove yourself first by starting at the bottom and climb your way up through gaining experience. Anyone can buy qualifications in India for a price if you know the right people in the universities. Even if someone has gained degrees through ‘honest’ channels it’s more than likely due to the giLi-baipaTa. Look at Kerala state. Almost everyone shows double-qualification degrees but most of them have no real knowledge about the field they have their degrees in. They can not even express themselves clearly. So, that begs the question, what is the point of education?

  • From Max and Jessie Rasquinha on Pledge against Smoking in Public to Prevent Childhood Cancer - Model Alester during ICCD

Smoking in public is not only harmful for children but for adults as well. Cancer is one of the main culprit caused by smoking not only for the smokers themselves but also for the public. U.S.A. has proven that smoking is harmful for everyone – period. Majority of the flights within U.S.A. and Canada are “smoke free” flights, and the offenders are severely punished. Even most of the indoor sports stadiums are totally forbidden for smoking, and so also all the high rise buildings. The smoke detectors are everywhere not only for total surveillance but also for immediate discipline. India with the ever-growing population must put continued restrictions anywhere and everywhere for smoking. The Medical Institutes have the best of opportunity to propagate anti-smoking laws and awareness to the public because they have access to all the proven research and prevention.

YES, Its a sad sight indeed. People are rightly agitated about it. But Sadly , the very same people who are now concerned may be living in Apartments which have come up by cutting down trees. Sadly too, the fact that the same concerned people may not hesitate to sell their prime property , if they have one, to a developer to put up a sky scraper. When it is a problem to maintain such property due to such family issues like children settling abroad, especially in catholic families, it is the best option . may be we are all victims of circumstances. but before we condemn those who cut down treees , we should look at ourselves and see how we have been just in our actions.

Dear Mr. Alfie, You certainly have emotions for your motherland, Mangalore, and write good editorials. However, the sad part is, the authorities, and as well as some Developers and Builders, some of whom are Christians and so called Catholics too, do not really care. All they think is THE REVENUE IT WILL GENERATE to them and to the authorities in various departments, and to the Government in general. All are on the take in the modern term called ”DEVELOPMENT” REVENUE IS THE NAME OF THE CURRENT GAME IN INDIA. The Christian, so called Catholic parents sell off their lineage properties as they cannot find any one to clean and work on their very large plots, and their children have been well educated not to be farmers, and are well settled in developed countries, where farming is mechanized. One cannot settle in India if we have people in authority, who can demonitze existing currency and make common people’s life as miserable as possible, dictate how much to draw from your account, how to speind from what is given, how to pay, and how much to pay in various taxes for any thing and every thing in every form and shape – so long as it generates REVENUE for the Government, for them to live off well. It’s a vicious and sad cycle of life – every Indian in India must learn to live.

Very traumatic to see this happening day in and day out in once-upon-a-time green Mangalore. Its concrete Mangalore now, not green any more. Nature provides for man’s need but there is no end to man’s greed. Please provide working contact numbers and addresses of Tree Officers office and Forest Department officials, someone sincere and upright who will put an end to this wanton destruction of Nature in the garb of development. Rather call it a disaster which is continuing unabated with all officials concerned wilfully turning a blind eye. The people of Mangalore have not shown any massive support towards the anti-Yettinahole agitation where water, the basic necessity of life is involved. Can we expect them to get together for anything which will improve the quality of life of the present and future generations. These political developments in Tamil Nadu politics on 7 February 2017 and after are in line with this Vedic astrology writer’s predictions in article “ 2017 – an opportune year for India with major worrisome concerns in February-March and August-September” issued widely to Indian news media last year in October and November 2016. The latest political scenario has now developed after conviction of Sasikala for four years by SC in her asset disproportionate case. It was predicted that while January to March could be a testing time for Chennai in Tamil Nadu , February-March may have major worrisome concerns involving health hazards or epidemics on account of energy resources like oil. Similarly , major worrisome concerns in political scenario during the said first three months , particularly February-March in Tamil Nadu also were described like this : “ Some political leaders may likely be unwell or break away or probably face some consequence of wrong-doing allegedly done in past”. It seems the oil spill as well as political developments during the period in Chennai seem to be precisely matching this writer’s predictions

The RTO must have a heavy duty Towing Vehicle that is capable of towing a bus, lorry, or a Mini Lorry/Bus, ready at all times, to take care of situations like these. In no country in the world you will notice any Police or RTO staff pushing a bus! They like such tamasha the media are somehow present in such situations, to shoot such stupidty. Instead, the RTO must clear all the private lorries, mini buses, and taxis parked on the new Service Roads – as if the service roads are made for parking their vehicles. These vehicles block the smooth flow of traffic. If the RTO have not noticed this, as in every case, then they should step out of their comfort zone, and take a walk on the NH66. You don’t expect people to tell the RTO to do their job by filing written comlaints – people are not paid for this – instead they are appointed and paid to do their jobs – of one which is this case of Parking on Main Roads and Service Roads.

It’s sad that a Canara Pinto Travels SCANIA bus, that’s so mammoth in size as compared to a puny Honda Splendor, met with an accident. Most people on 2 wheelers in the Udupi District do not know to ride a bike safely, and are very often seen riding on the wrong side of the road, on one way street, etc. especially in the early morning hours and due to no proper access on the highway NH66, thus resulting in such accidents. The CPT or VRL or SRS bus drivers are professionals, and are very experienced and careful drivers.

This explains why certain groups have chosen not to participate in ‘swachcha bharatha’ campaign. For them, religion is more important than country. They would rather mock and criticize good citizens cleaning the streets (example: SRK monks) than actually trying to address the issue. But, he is right on one thing – cleaning of mind is the first step. It’s time they apply the lesson on themselves, clean their mind of religious hatred and join good citizens in making our cities clean.

  • From Max and Jessie Rasquinha on Mangaluru has enough water to Supply to other states, if managed Scientifically - Prof Sitharam

What an inspiring and encouraging message from Prof. Sitharam on the Water resources in Mangalore. It is extremely gratifying to note that we in Mangalore have sufficient water reservoir that will be more than adequate not only for our domestic consumption but also if needed we can offer water facility to our neighboring states. Supply of adequate water resource without any reason for concern is a statement that is very consoling. Let the people of Mangalore continue to progress with the feeling that we have sufficient water and that will enable all our people to move ahead with a sense of progress and encouragement because water is an essential commodity for our daily survival and growth. Prof. Sitharam’s comments on need for Technological innovation for future safeguard of water storage and distribution should be taken into consideration with a serious note. There are so many countries abroad that have master minded the technology on water, specially the preservation of river water generated by adequate monsoons without allowing the fresh water to flow freely into the ocean. This is an important thought that need timely consideration so that monsoon water pouring down the earth at odd times due to climate change can be preserved for all seasons. We always believe that Rivers are our sacred assets that we need to nurture with utmost care. So long as people of India with ever-growing population are assured of adequate water supply, so many other programs can be easily implemented with the consistent flow of water at all times. “Namashkhaar”

LGBTs are also God’s creation like all humans and deserve to be respected and treated equally. It is our responsibility to rehabilitate them and accept them as a part of our society. Oregon State’s (USA) Governor Kate Brown, a transgender, recently was sworn in as Governor. There are quite a few achievers who are transgenders. The police and the local people in Karnataka’s Bangalore, Mangalore, and Udupi must be very vigilant today on the poor men, women, and children who migrate from poor parts of North Karnataka, UP, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Kerala. Statistics and the nuisance witnessed reveal that due to economical difficulties and lack of jobs or trade, these people migrate in large numbers to the Dubai of Karnataka, i.e. Bangalore, Mangalore, and Udupi, where due to scarcity of people and unskilled and as well as skilled labour, they can demand Rs.500 to Rs.800.- per 8 hours. Then there are plenty of liquor outlets poisoning these people and their families with cheap liquor sold lose in pegs, more than often leading to many drunkards laying on the pavements, women with small babies syndicate begging in Udupi and Manipal, and children begging at bus stands, prostitution, robbery, and even murder – as even their women and children are drunkards and vagabonds.

Sadly missed”– The blow was hard when I found out that Fermi Crasta is no more due to a tragic bike accident. I knew him as a friendly and jovial part-time bartender long time ago at G6-Music Cafe in Valencia-Mangaluru- and he always used to shake hands and greet me with a smile as I walked into the Cafe. He will be missed by his colleagues here. I truly believe Fermi is at peace and is united with his dear ones and friends in heavenly bliss. In conclusion, all I have to say to my friend Fermi is, ” We will all think of you in silence. We often speak your name, now all we have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake with which we’ll never part. God bless you in his keeping, but we’ll always have you in our hearts and in our memories. You are sadly missed by me, your family members, relatives and friends. Every time we look at your picture, you seem to smile and say, ‘Don’t be sad but take courage, and love each other for my sake’. We will do that, we promise.” Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light show upon Fermi-May his Soul Rest in Peace. Amen

  • From Max and Jessie Rasquinha on Is Mangaluru Running out of Drinking Water? No, In fact Water is Running..

Conservation of Water is the KEY. Managing the water scientifically and storing the water technologically is an essential fact. We have enough Monsoon water pouring all over the place for nearly four months. We have long and fertile rivers where we have to preserve the water from flowing freely into the wide ocean. We have discovered the ways and means of storing the hydrocarbons in underground caverns. We have found the ways and means of transferring our surplus water to other neighboring States. We have the best of experts who know their job well but they need outside help whenever applicable. Water will always remain to be a precious commodity. Our growing population need more water each passing year. We must do something soon and we must do something smart.

These patriotic citizens should be appropriately compensated by the Mangalore Municipality, that simply collects huge amounts in property tax, various taxes on apartments, etc. Taxes collected in any form from the people of Mangalore must be equally first utilized for the benefit of Mangalore and it’s citizens rather than on political activities. The Mangalore Municipality too should check around and make good the dilapitated footpaths, open drains, put up outdoor type of granite or concrete benches randomly along the pavements for the elderly and the handicapped to rest. The K.S. Road, Valencia Road and the Balmatta Road are the main ones, where people walk a lot.

This is a big challenge for any government to see the rich are getting richer, and the poor get poorer. Why don’t the banks give out loans at low interest loans. The Grameen Bank in Bangladesh has been doing a marvelous job in micro financing very small home run businesses, that have got many out of poverty. Two months ago the Federal government in India announced a big drop in interest rates. Many borrowers flocked to the bank to return the moneys they had borrowed at a very high interest rate, and get new loans at a much lower rates. Much to their disappointment the banks refused to accept the money, and re-loan at lower interest rates that Federal government announced. There is an old saying when your loose your capital, the bank looses interest.

The RSS and other allies of Hindutva, like Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray, have also declared their preference for dictatorship over democracy and openly expressed admiration for Hitler. Small wonder that Mein Kampf is a runaway best seller in this country. In his 1938 book, We or Our Nationhood Defined, Golwalkar approves the Nazi extermination of Jews: “To keep up purity of the nation and its culture, Germany shocked the world by her purging the country of the Semitic races, the Jews. National pride at its highest has been manifested here. Germany has also shown how well-nigh impossible it is for races and cultures having differences going to the root, to be assimilated into a united whole, a good lesson for us in Hindustan to learn and profit by.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi today defended India’s human rights record, saying for his government, the Constitution is the “real holy book” that provides freedom of faith and speech to all citizens regardless of their background. “India lives as one; India grows as one and India celebrates as one,” Modi said in his address to a joint meeting of the US Congress at the invitation of the Speaker of the US House of Representatives. It is time to burn the holy ‘bunch of thoughts’ scripted by Guruji of Sangh Parivar who wanted treat minority as second class citizen.PM should read from the holy book of constittion of India in his ‘mann ki baat’ every time to unite the nation to take it forward. Instead of criticizing effectiveness of Modiji’s ‘swachcha bhaaratha’ campaign, it would be more logical and appropriate to question elected reps and their refusal to participate in campaign purely based on political/religious agenda. It’s always easy to mock and lecture Modi and BJP. However, people seem to have some trouble acknowledging and confronting the failure of certain local politicians who are completely missing in action.

You rock Bro- all your articles make sense to educate some of our officials who have got the position through votes and not through their education and knowledge. How can Mangaluru be a smart city with NOT so smart people in MCC who are looking to make this city smart, or trying to make some smart money in the name of Smart city- just a portion of the crores of Rupees sanctioned by the govt will help these greedy and corrupt ????-I won’t name them, you do it?

  • From Pradeep Raj on That's Not Smart! Having A Mega Circle Taking More Road Space

Yes infact this is a sensitive issue/thought where everyone has to speak up. It has covered the large space of the road, and it’s literally leading to the place towards accident prone area. It’s the connecting road towards/from the Kadri temple where we can’t cross/move freely. Before planning this construction, two large vehicles such as busses /trucks/lorries were passing on the same lane… Where as now even one car along with a bike can’t move…!!! It’s better to reduce the space of the circle,..!!!!

  • From Henry James on 'End is Near for India due to Coming World War' -Shocking News from Poojary

This is true story. Back in the 1980s, during one of the major elections Janardhan Poojary was at the helm of Congres party affairs and was busy canvassing for votes. He was due to arrive at one rally and he planned a grand entry into the event. He arranged for the party workers to shout “Kai Kai” as his car approached the scene so the rest of the crowd would respond “jai jai”…. you know how these things work in Indian elections. Almost everything went according to the plan. As he was about to disembark from his Ambassador car, to his sheer bad luck, his hand got stuck in the door. In excruciating agony he screamed “kai kai” and the whole crowd shouted “jai jai”. True story. You can ask him. He will reminisce it with fond nostalgia.

Good time pass Fresh Meat (press meet), Mr. Poojary doesn’t have any role in politics, this is the only way to express his whereabouts and existence. He should retire gracefully, even after losing 7 MP election Congress party till considering him as a leader, this is the greatness of congress, in return he should maintain that gratitude rather than talking unnecessarily and without any agenda. And showing his frustration blaming Congress leaders for nothing.

Please ask these veteran (above the age of 60) leaders to retire from politics gracefully and pave way to the new generation leaders by supporting them, sharing experience and guiding them. These leaders (especially maha gyani Poojary, Krishna, Jaffer Shareef, Oscar, CM Ibrahim etc.) already enjoyed the power and benefits the Congress provided during its helm, these leaders became someone from no one because of Congress Party. Learn from Mr. Advani, even though the party sidelined him but never uttered a single word against BJP leadership and kept silent. SM Krishna is greedy and over ambitious politician to resign in this age. He still need power. I had respect for him but seeing his current political statement am ashamed of him. Lets not forget that the highway is cutting right through mangalore. In all other places in karnataka (except for our twin districts), the NHAI has built bypass roads. I do not understand why all the heavy vehicles including bullet tankers etc. have to spew their deadly poison and go through our city roads. Because these main roads are under NHAI and they have no regards for the common public, they make long stretches of roads without any acess for the people that live alongside . And when such roads pass through cities are bound to be problems. I do not fault goldfinch city at all. If there is no acess people who have to goto goldfinch city complex have to go all the way upto kulur bridge to make a U turn and this is atleast a 4km extra horrible drive.6

Ron Paul summed up Obama’s president the best” Barack Obama started with a Nobel Peace Prize and is ending his presidency with the Pentagon’s Distinguished Public Service Medal. Sounds about right for a president who bombed 7 nations and became the first in U.S. history to be at war every single day of his eight year administration. “

After quick photoshoot BJP’s ‘Jaddus’ borrowed from AAP is permanently vanished. PM Modi government which recently selected Mangalore for smart city is continue to strive for clean image. Even though it is highest concentration of educated people 16 attempts still not proving to be futile.I appreciate the great work of mission and continues dedication for cleanliness. The city is also badly need to come out of pub attacks, gau rakshaks, moral police. Garbage can be removed any number of time and cleanness can only be made visible.Mangalore does need bad cleansing of hearts from hatred. Jai Hind

  • From Jay on Yes He Did! Adios to My Beloved US President Barack Obama

Yes he did: 1. “Slavery was not to long ago” he repeated in his speeches. Later he tacitly supported this myth “Black lives matter” (when it is all lives that matter). This led to the killing of a score of police officers getting dunned down. All this led to worsening of the race relations in America. 2. Obamacare – What a disaster. The deductibles are so expensive, and the premiums are so high. 3. Global Warming. He paid for the mess that China is creating. He refused to have the oil pipeline from Canada that could satisfy the demand for energy in both North and South America, in preference to oil from the ME. 4. Disastrous policy on Iraq and Syria. Against the advise of his generals he withdraw troops from Iraq that led to a power vacuum which created ISIS (and he is the only leader who insists on calling it ISIL). 5. Disastrous Iran policy. His secretary John Kerry negotiated the worst nuclear deal, basically giving Iran a rouge state constantly threatening countries with annihilation to not only build nuclear weapons also gave Iran 10 billion dollars. 6. Disastrous Libya policy. Got rid of Gaddafi who was a dictator and bad, but what we have now is worse, a country without a government and a great base for ISIS and terror organization. 7. Obama claims that he is popular – Yeah right, that why he lost the hold of congress and rouge nations around the world supported this lame duck. 8. Education. Obama gave incentives to black mom’s and black schools are a mess. 9. ISIL. He refused to call radical Islamic terrorism. He tried to riffle free speech in the name of ‘insulting the prophet”. He called terrorism “work place violence”. How could he fight terrorism when he refuses to even acknowledge it exist. 10. He came with a promise to decrease the US national debt, and when he took office the debt was less than 12 trillion, but now that he has left the debt has gone to over 20.01 trillion. There much, much more things that he had done but for need of brevity I’m shortening it down to 10. The only time he cried was to tell us how much he loved Michele. I did not vote from him and never would as he is the worst president in US history

Hell’s bells and buckets of toddy! Bhakth’s salutation to ‘Pradhana Sevaka’ has relegated from ‘Narendra Modiji’ to ‘Narendra Modi’? Is it the demonetisation effect? Monks and volunteers continue to do the good work in our city as other political groups, religious groups and school managements stay idle drowned by their own inability to step out of political/religious mindset. How do some of these schools and colleges allow so much mess right next to their campus while pretending to be champions of social work and education? Also, how come there is a complete absence of elected reps in this campaign? Are they worried that any good work will help Narendra Modi? The negative mindset of certain groups and individuals is quite obvious even though media tries to hide it.

Very sad story. The government is doing nothing, the business community in India is flaunting their wealth on weddings and people are wasting monies on rituals and worthless causes. Perhaps, they could take a lesson or two from people in West, and the philanthropist in the business community could come forward and donate their wealth to very worthy causes in our society. Unfortunately, this is not happening in the near future, and the needy will only have to look up to the heavens.

I believe the people who use buses from the State Bank Service Bus Stand should in turn bring awareness sense to the Mangalore Municipality, the Traffic Dept, and the Public Works Dept., so those in authority in these government departments are aware of their responsibility of providing the people who use the Service Bus Stand, a decent, well asphalted or concretised Public Bus Stand. I wonder if those in authority ever visited this Bus Stand during the recent monsoon – so pathetic in condition – sometime one wonders what does the authority do with all the exorbitant taxes collected in terms of Service Tax!
