I guess you need to personally go and visit her and follow up whether Arun kumar is doing the needful and whether treatment is provided to her in a fair manner and if she is getting better or not. She needs a lot of prayers and emotional support rather than praises. Your reporting will be complete if you get the right facts. News reporting is good to highlight such cases but what makes it excellent is if it is followed up with emotional bonding. May be for your team it’s just another news but I guess there is something more than news which binds humans and that’s humanity which most of the people in and out of mangalore lack. So I kindly request you and your team to report her condition after visiting her. To all the readers and her relatives kindly keep her in your prayers and go and visit her.

Dear SP Annamallai, Surely loss of precious life and property can be made minimal, if the authorities too understand the situation and act on it – instead of just giving big talks of conern in public. Accidents do happen even in the most developed countries with the most sophisticated and well built roads and signalling systems – USA, Dubai, Kuwait, Germany, to name a few. Accidents in Udupi and Mangalore can be minimized if a thorough study is undertaken by all the authorities empowered for the development of roads and signalling system. I have voiced many a times in Mangalorean.Com on this subject, and as a concerned citizen, I must reiterate once again, especially to SP Annamallai, who seems to be an honest and responsible person in authority: 1. Erect Traffic Lights on all major cross roads in Udupi starting from Manipal, Kalnsanka, City Bus Stand, Bannanje/DC Office, KSRTC Bus Stand, Udupi Head Post Office, Diana Circle, Big Bazaar/Ajjarkad junction, etc. At present there are none, and one or two that are there, are non-functional. Do not allow MESCOM to switch off road lights at night. 2. Mark main roads with lanes, Pedestrian crossings, Left Turn, Right Turn, etc. 3. Install LARGE BOLD Warning Signs, Traffic Signs, and Speed Limits. When one goes to the RTO, one is made to read and understand many traffic signs, that are non-existant on any road in Udupi! 4. Erect speed breakers, that truly stops a vehicle to break speed, and not those 2inch plastic speed breakers that are installed that everyone speeds over. 5. Put Traffic cops all over 24 hours – and do not allow them to stand in groups as you will witness at Kalsanka or the City bus stand – simply standing and talking instead of effectively manning the roads to ensure smooth flow of traffic. 6. Educate people, especially the locals, Not to drive on the wrong side of the roads, not to ride a bike or scooty with 3 & persons, not to park any where and everywhere, to get in the habit of using Turn Signals and slowing down much in advance in all cases. Educate private bus drivers on how to drive a bus with public inside – they are some of the most rash bus drivers on planet earth. 7. Constructs open grounds and/or Parking Buildings, so as to facilitate parking of vehicles – at present there are none – this is a need and not a luxury! I hope the above few inputs will be read and implemented by all the authorities, as in India, improvisation or carrying out something for the people involves a lot of people who never walk the roads, who always go around in police escorts with roads cleared, and who depend on the Central Govt. to approve, sanction, and release funds, and the CM and the MLA’s etc. to take credit, and the Contracts awarded to barbers and cobblers, who know nothing about construction, and ultimately, we get poorly constructed roads, shabbily constructed footpaths, and badly engineered drainage, that are never cleaned periodically. SP Annamallai cycles every day 20km as per his claim, surely he must have witnessed all the above in Udupi. The Mangalore part is fed in almost on a weekly basis by the reporters of Mangaloren.Com

So, We tell this matter to MCC Engineering Dept. and they are always busy in meetings or they are in Bangalore or Surathkal. Look at the problem of gutter on Mallikatta-Bunts Hostel Road and that shows the Corruption of area Corporator. Look at the danger near Arya Samaj road junction with the open gutter. I have spoken to Chief Executive Engineer and He sent Contractor Supervisor of Jugul Construction. Still, it is a life-threatening mess. Then look near Natural Ice Cream building where a Child can Fall after eating tasty Ice Cream. Look near Bharath Beedie-Kambla road junction. This is another famous Corrupt Ward of Mangalore. Look at the open dug up area near the entrance to Kambla Road. I hope local Corporators’ SUV should fall into it to give a clear message of ignorance. Crores are sanctioned for Rainy season repairs but if they use it, there is nothing left to…..! Now they have to find a dead Contractor or someone to make a Fake Bill of repairs and…………….. MCC is becoming Mangalore C……… Center.

Indeed a good move and this should be applied in every temple of Mlore city. Temples are places of worship and is not a place to show cast one’s dressing aspects. I myself have seen many women visiting the temple with indecent dress, which off course does not severe our purpose of temple visit and that disturbs our praying peace. We need to follow the regulations in temples like Horanadu and Kollur. Despite caste and religion, one has to follow strict dress code including the men, who have to remove their shirts, before entering the scared place to have the darshan of the lord. Great move by “women-only”group.

There are debates on the innocence of the late DySP Ganapathy, thanks to his controversial career. Leaders like R Ashoka declared that the police officer had a clean career, but several departmental enquiries against him tell a different story. His 25-year career was marked not just by allegations of corruption, but also alleged inaction during the Mangalore church attacks of 2008. On September 14 of that year, the Adoration Monastery of the Sisters of St-Clare, near the Milagres Church in Hampankatta, was attacked by Bajrang Dal and Sri Rama Sene activists. Reportedly the attacks were carried out to intimidate Christians who loudly protested against attacks on nuns and religious heads in Odisha. In 2014, he had been suspended for not following Standard Operating Procedure, allegedly after he pocketed money recovered from a thief. A businessman named Rangaswamy had lodged a complaint with the Rajagopalnagar police station in October 2013, stating that Rs 1 crore had been stolen from his relative’s godown. But in the FIR, Ganapathy had written that only Rs 24,000 had been stolen. When the money was recovered from the businessman’s younger brother, Ganapathy allegedly returned only Rs 64 lakh. Ganapathy, then inspector of Yashwantpur police station, was part of the team headed by then Bengaluru Joint Commissioner (Crime) Alok Kumar that allegedly killed rowdy sheeter Pachi alias Prashanth in a fake encounter on September 25, 2010. The late officer suspended twice during BJP,now became hero of the party. God’s court has finally given verdict that he committed on duty. Now BJP Karnataka President B S Yeddyurappa raising voice against DYSP Ganpati suicide. Why is he called police official not to harass some Hindu youths in a murder case in Hassan district? Jai Hind

Mr. Mohammed Hanif, To you and to some other Muslims, Dr. Zakir Naik is a hero but, for me, he is a fraud and a scoundrel, who has become a multi-millionaire by preaching hate about other religions and superiority of Islam (as if Islam was one of the oldet religions which, in fact, is not). Dr. Naik has taken advantage of the semi-literates, who have no brains and reasoning power. Contrary to what you said, I counter you by saying that many mentions have been made of both Mother Mary in the Bible (New Testament). I cannot tell anything about the Torah because that holy book is written in Hebrew and I do not know that language. Further, it is a very ancient scripture. From what little I know about Prophet Mohammad (may peace be upon him), he was an illiterate person and, therefore, he did not write the Koran himself. Rather, it was dictated to somebody else, who wrote it for him. It is something like Adolph Hitler who, though not an illiterate, but was poor in in written German had dictated his thoughts to Rudolf Hess, who wrote it down for the future Fuhrer and later it was published as Mein Kampf.

Convert to Islam and pay 2.5% of their savings as Zakat. 2. Do not convert to Islam, and pay 50% of their income (not savings) as Jaziya. 3. Hence, if anyone does not want to convert to Islam and pay the Zakat, or remain a non Muslim and pay the Jaziya, then the order is to kill them? Why? Would it be acceptable to Muslims if Hindus, Christians & Jews were to use the same reasoning and logic extract money out of you? Zakir Naik is a Master of “Taqqiya” or Lying, and since you have watched his videos you may have also got well trained too. All Zakir does is to lie and lie, and makes it sound that his lies are the truth. If you think Zakir is telling the truth then go and also watch the youtube videos of David Wood, Sam Shamoun, Dr. Nabeel Qureshi and you will know how much he lies. He was supposed to return to India on July 11, 2016, where is he? I doubt he will come back. If he was clean and honest he will come back and face the allegations against him, and clarify with his copy of un-doctored videos. Wait and see he will settle in a Muslim country and join hands with other terrorists like Hafiz Saeed, etc and continue his terror acts against India and the Indian people and his well oiled Semi and illiterate audience will clap for Zakir.

I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.’ We are told again and again by ‘experts’ and ‘talking heads’ that Islam is the religion of peace and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the specter of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam. The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history. It is the fanatics who march. It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honor-kill. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. It is the fanatics who teach their young to kill and to become suicide bombers. The hard, quantifiable fact is that the peaceful majority, the ‘silent majority,’ is cowed and extraneous. Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant. China’s huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people. The average Japanese individual, prior to World War II, was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians, most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet. And who can forget Rwanda, which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were ‘peace loving’? History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt. Yet for all our powers of reason, we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points: peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence. Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don’t speak up, because like my friend from Germany, they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun. Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late. Islamic prayers have now been introduced into Toronto and other public schools in Ontario, and, yes, in Ottawa too while the Lord’s Prayer was removed (due to being so offensive?! To whom? Not to the vast majority of Canadians!). The Islamic way is only peaceful until the fanatics move in. In Australia, and indeed in many countries around the world, many of the most commonly consumed food items have the halal emblem on them. Just look at the back of some of the most popular chocolate bars, and at other food products in your local supermarket. Foods on aircraft have the halal emblem, just to appease the privileged minority who are now rapidly expanding throughout the world. In the U.K, the Muslim communities refuse to integrate and there are now dozens of ?no-go? zones within major cities across the country that the police force dare not intrude upon. Sharia law prevails there, because the Muslim community in those areas refuses to acknowledge British law. As for we who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts — the fanatics who threaten our way of life. Anyone who doubts the seriousness of this issue and just deletes this email without sending it on, is contributing to the passiveness that allows the problems to expand. So, I beg you, extend yourself a bit and send this on and on and on in the hope that thousands, world-wide, read this, n about it, and send it on – before it’s too late . . .. because we remained silent.

For any clear thinking person, it was very clear that all sides made mistakes during 2008 incident. Police responded only after a few trouble makers engaged in property damage and pelted stones injuring cops. Unfortunately, police responded with disproportionate force assaulting many innocents who were used as shield by the trouble makers. Quite honestly, re-opening this old incident to discredit a dead Police officer shows poor taste and bad judgement. This is a fit case for CBI Inquiry in order to deliver justice. CBI should have independent authority to probe any case in the nation without seeking permission from the State Govt. Is it not true that such activities have already produced a Converted Christian Community as one huge entity today placing them neither here or there? Is it not true that there is immense tension in the Society because of this one unethical mass program which agitate Hindu Community? If this one major unpleasant issue is stopped there is no other single issue between communities who love and respect each other and go about with their regular spiritual and material life as one prefer. Mr Saldanha is not and will never go and speak the real cause of such incidents as in Mangalore which in anyway, for any reason, should never happen at all. Though, I strongly believe in Almighty God, who has created all of us and I am a Roman Catholic, nevertheless I firmly believe that all religions – be it past or present – are manmade and Almighty God had no role in creation of any religion. The oldest religions are Hinduism, Judaism, Zorastrianism, Jainism and Buddhism. How can Dr. Zakir Naik can say that Islam is the superior religion, when it has copied things from the Torah and Bible and came into existence only in 632 A.D.?

It had made be a very peacfull person. I started respecting other religions more after hearing Zakir Naik. I learnt lot of good things from him. Whatver i disagreed with him, i ignored it. He has 14 million followers of FB, 200 Million watch him on Tv daily , so to brand him as a hate monger is a serious crime. And that is why people are protesting. Nobody would have protested is the core contention of Zakir Naik haters was that they don’t like his views about other religions. That would have been a valid argument. But here the media trial on Dr Zakir Naik is disgusting to say the least. With all humility, I urge you to be more rational in your critisim of Dr Zakir naik and the protest that is held today.

When I asked few students about the weight and reason why they take so many books,they said, “Teachers make us to bring all the books even we do not open some books in classroom” They do not have guidance as both Parents work and they get hand on i-Pads and Mobile phones at very young age which display scenes which Children of that age should not read nor see it. However, in I.P.S. if you wish to become a Commissioner of Police of a large city or metropolis or D.G.P., you have to be a toadie and His Master’s Voice of the Chief Minister and Home Minister concerned. There are allegations that either one has to be that or pay hefty sums to get a plum posting. The same may be very much applicable to Superintendents of Police, etc. Many years ago, I came across an official in one of the top brass’ office and while departing I said, “Thank you very much for your help and by the way what is your good name?” I forget his first name, but his surname was that of a Maharashtrian Brahman and he said he was Sr. Superintendent of Police. I reckoned, he may have been in his late 50s and due for retirement. I felt, he may retire on the same rank. He may have been an upright officer and that is why he did not make much headway and working like a Head Clerk in one of the headquarters. In the first half of the first decade of the turn of this century, I was told that the Commissioner of Police of that time would touch the feets of his political masters, the moment he saw them.

I have always maintained that government employment, including police, is not meant for honest people working as per their conscience and serving the people. The Government does not expect employees to serve the people, but serve their professional and political masters and help them to make money through dubious ways. So what, underlings can also make some money in the process? If bureaucrats and government employees, be it in Central or those of various State Governments, been transparent, honest and upright and been united and banded together to fight evil practices, the ministers and politicians would have been wary, worked hard with fright and one would not have heard of scandals, irregularities and corrupt practices. I would have been pleased to see the senior Muslim leaders in Saudi, Egypt hold those banners from the pulpit of mosques. A child and some children carry banner the size of an A4 or larger will not make much difference to the world’s 1.2 billion Muslims. However, if Muslim masses are serious they should totally first renounce Jihad, and all forms of violence, even at home. Give woman, minorities and the different sects of Islam equal rights, in particular those living in Muslim dominated lands. Jaziya a penalty paid by non Muslims and to forced to live in subjugation as second class citizens with little or no rights should be over and done with, never to return. Sharia (Islamic Law) is another bone of contention, that discriminates against non Muslims and even Muslims of some sects are persecuted in their countries. Long story short democracy and freedom for ALL and we will all live happily ever after.

Very sad and unfortunate for the family to lose a young man from the family. This bus even today being a holiday and less traffic with no much of traffic, no road blocks should not be plying on this road. This bus had to go State Bank via Jyothi. The traffic police should be stringent and should not allow any bus plying via Joythi to State Bank to ply via Falnir since the drivers are reckless and always rash and the Mother Teresa road is quite narrow for unwanted traffic. Abolish the private bus mafia and then see the difference.

Nothing is going to happen- unless we see a general trend to follow traffic rules. driving within speed limits is not something that is only in the books but needs to be enforced. How to enforce it but to collect heavy fines on a daily basis. Employing a full time police squad in arterial roads – with speed detection and documenting with video – should incur a first time fine. If there is repeat against the Driving licence then automatic court hearing should be the case. Lack enforcement on a regular and sustained manner is not happening. This therefore reflects the deficiency on the part of the police in Mangalore City. THIS late of response to even an accident ( delay) is a clear evidence for absence of traffic enforcement squad on patrol. Traffic police salaries within the cities should come from the MCC and therefore tax from the residents of Mangalore- Just see that effect of that within a year – smart move to smart city? I totally agree. These bus drivers drive recklessly. He was lucky enough to get punched only once . Bottom line is mangalore lost a life cause of the drivers carelessness . “Mohammed….” – Report I’m genuinely worried about disproportionate involvement of a much smaller community in these anti-social, criminal activities. It’s quite obvious that decades of ‘vote bank’ politics by Congress has alienated this community and indirectly pushed them into high rate of illiteracy and unemployment. More focus on family planning, education and less emphasis on religion can save this community from a total collapse. I have no reason to believe that Congress party or stenographers in media would either acknowledge or try to address this unfortunate reality. I request Sangha Parivaara to come forward and help this community to come out of this sad situation. It’s in the best interest of majority community to help, educate minority communities and bring them into mainstream.

I don’t think it is a priority to install high mast lights at the park, rather it should have been installed at the Nanthur Junction. The reason being once darkness falls, the visibility falls. It is dark, especially for the pedestrians. This junction being such an important one, there are no lights, no signals, the only illumination is from the hoarding. Otherwise it would be pitch dark. I don’t understand why this junction is being ignored.

Hence, what is sold in foreign stores that has not been seen in Mangalore/India for many years Though they do sell some of their produce locally a large part is exported because any businessman sees where they get a better deals and/or other incentives & advantages. Here are some of the advantages of exporting, just to name a few. 1. If everything is dumped in the local market there will be a glut, and prices will fall drastically. 2. Foreign buyers are willing to pay higher prices for superior quality of products. 3. They are definitely getting a very fair price especially when getting paid in foreign currency. 4. It is sold in bulk, dealing with just a handful of importers & wholesalers and MOST IMPORTANTLY PROMPT AND GURANTEED PAYMENT METHODS. 5. Export incentives by the government and getting paid in foreign currencies has many advantages and without going into details, there is room for manipulation in many cases. 6. Exporters are allowed to import plant & machinery, and as automation will increase productivity, profitability and meet foreign standards. And if they do not want to import themselves, there is huge demand for import permits/licenses with perks of little or no import duties

Little do you know, how much food India exports – the largest exporter of Beef in the world!- must have read this article when Indians were making noise on TO EAT OR NOT TO EAT BEEF! Visit any Gulf country, and one will be shocked to find in all the supermarkets, hypermarkets, in all Indian Stores, the best of Indian Rice, Lentils, Cooking Oils, Ghee,Pulses and including Indian Mutton, Beef, Chicken and Fish available in tons to feed one and all. So if Supply and Demand is the case – how can India afford to export food? Mangalore and Udupi have shortage of fish mainly because if one visits the main Fishing Port in Malpe before the monsoon ban is mainly because of excessive fishing and excessive exports to Goa, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu – you can see the amount of trucks leave with fish every morning and evening.

With the sharp increase in population, and the scanty minimum resources available in the next few decades ALL Indians will have a very rough time as food and water will become very, very scarce. This will lead to anarchy and total breakdown of the law and order and all branches of government if the population as the have not’s will resort to stealing and violence to satisfy their basic vegetative function of hunger and thirst. As per the World Health Organization (WHO) India’s population stands at over 1.4 billion, with close to 50% of its population less than age 21. This means once they marry in the next 25 years India’s population could easily cross 2 billion, and in the next 50/75 years it will double again to anywhere over 4 billion. Very scary stats and each and every one needs to act NOW, RIGHT NOW !!!! This is a very serious matter and only the Indian people take drastic measures to control an explosion of the human race.

I congratulate the Mangalorean.com for publishing articles high lighting pertinent issues to Mangalorean citizens . If one sees the statistics of major death penalty cases in our country – almost all belong to poor people or PBLs. This indicates that there is disparity in our law enforcement , our legal system , stacked against the poor people. It means for the same crime , poorer get punished more severely when the rich may get away with it. It is because of this inequality the people with money and power take more courage and do brazen crimes at the same time manage to save their neck. Outsourcing is a parallel that goes well with the present case( people who carried out the actual deed) and the mastermind( the “kidney patient”) as well to the suicide bombers who are recruited and brainwashed and their family is compensated only after their act of sacrifice. The accused is influential enough to have media pictures of him with top politicians and lawmakers of the country floating around in social media.
